[p.e.g.] - chiba (orana project remix)

Haha yes, another chiba remix. i believe this is the one going to be featured on the vinyl release (whenever that may be... hopefully soon). The original was a masterpiece and we really had fun remixing this.

Anyways, just wanted to share with you, hope you enjoy.

download here

And just incase any one didn't know:
Orana Project = Ethereal + Tyler C

Enjoy

that build up is rather crazy

dunno if it's the mp3, but the percs are barely hearable (before and after the breaks section that is).. reduces the energy quite a bit.

good track as a whole, interesting take on the original

Posted by RickyM on Dec-04-2005 13:23:

That break is awesome, the guitar is brilliant, how did you do that?? Sounds like a real guitar. After the break it is very nice too...excellent remix guys.

Posted by iloop on Dec-04-2005 22:46:

nice break, loving the wicked rythmic actual breaks, and some of the synths are nice, but somewhat distorty for such a beautifull melody...
good job nevertheless, and good luck with the release.

Amazing energy... the kick drum doesn't seem to be as loud as most other trance, but it's all very good.

The breakdown itself is killer. How did you get that guitar to sound so authentic (like previous listener stated)?

Powerful!

Posted by Aesthetic on Dec-04-2005 23:34:

Yeah guys.. great job on this one. Like I said to you earlier Nishant, I do always prefer phill's original cause its just that damn good.

I particularly love that breaks section (whats new ).

Worthy of the vinyl IMO.

Dave.

the buildup is great, i like the vibe of the track, the drive is immense

nice work with the guitar in the break, cool breaks as always

maybe the piano could be a bit more upfront in the break?

nice quality

great work, guys !

Posted by tylerc on Dec-05-2005 00:35:

Thanks for the feedback guys.

The guitar sounds authentic because it is authentic. That's me hammering away on my acoustic.

thank you much, i noticed, and already fixed...

tyler: i'm assuming you read your email and are okay with the changes? also, nice sig... didn't know that there were so many tall buildings in the midwest

thanks for comments so far everyone

Way to copy my piano idea

Nice breaks during the piano, though..

Over all it's better than my remix, but my piano still owns yours.

Holy S*it

This song is very impressive. I love the break. The rhythm, the guitar...the melody...it's fabulous. Bring out the piano and it'll be perfect. The buildup...wow can you talk about major tease. Very good though.

Song has a lot of energy and a LOT of drive. Damn I could just go insane to this. Great work man!

Now I can see why my version made it as a digital release and not a vinyl release.

This is a quality remix, love the synth work, and the break is mad. Can't wait to buy this on vinyl

Great track.
Woot nice intro.
The percs are really too low.
Great riff. I'd add a contrast to it.
Break: OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
Raising the volume.
Great breakbeat.
OMG. This is the best kick off I've ever heard.
Nice melody. Good lead. I like the secondary.
It has been a while since I've heard a good uplifting trance tune.
This is not cheezy at all.
Well except for the lead arp, but it fits.

Great job dudes,
9/10.
Omer.

nice rave sound to it!

with a hint of psy also.

this is the sort of track i always wish was a dubby version. that didnt really go into anything but remains really driving.

break - quite cheesy but sounds really nice.

main melody is great. loads of emotion there! and really moving.

its a bit 'psy' for my likeing but it sounds nice and i like the melody loads.

pro sounding work

good stuff tiger, some of the levels need a bit of tweaking but overall it's really good mate

Posted by midaV on Dec-05-2005 19:02:

Digging the mix, love how you guys didnt exadurate the acoustic guitar in the break. Energy and flow is ace, good work.

Also just finished an ambient track with portions of my classical guitar, feel free to review:

Hey guys, I really love what you've done! The way the tune builds up is very cool, and the breakdown is just lush! Love the way you lay on the tease as well, this is going to go off at a club (and hopefully JoC will play it when he comes to sydney soon..)
My only suggestion is that the main section isn't as fulfilling as it could be - it lacks focus slightly and feels a little cold. perhaps make the main melody synth a little warmer? Some of the elements playing at the time could be lowered to make the main part more focussed. Other than that, this is absolutely top quality stuff guys! Congrats on a killer remix guys, I'd be really honoured to have this on the vinyl

kind kind words, phill... thanks for the feedback... we will be fixing it up accordingly (planning to add some more stutters in the beginning as well).

thanks to the rest of you all as well

Posted by tylerc on Dec-06-2005 23:32:

Thanks for the kind words everyone. We'll be putting the final touches on this in the next day or two.

Posted by Pendulum on Dec-08-2005 02:29:

Hey guys!

Thought I would take a peep in here, As I said in my email. the tune is fantastic. You have done some great work here, particularly with the break, chopped up beats and guitar, obviously.

As per my email feedback, the subtle yet important changes I would make, would be to add some of your finesse to the intro with some more chopped up beats (like the outro), as this will make mixing in this tune for DJs more interesting, as well as checking your levels like Luke Terry said. And like Phill said, it is a little cold once it all starts banging out after the break, and this is either fixed by boosting the warmer mids, or cutting back the harsher highs on whatever it is that is making it cold there.

That aside, I think the remix is great. Lots of drive, and lots of elements that are interesting.

Great work guys, glad to have you onboard

Scottie

I love the acoustic work in the breakdown. Excellent glitching in the breakbeat.

Okay, that buildup started out sounding really boring and typical, but once the glitching hit, I was intrigued again. Good work there.
