Denon DN-2000F MKIII

Am looking to start mixing CDs and I just need a quality dual unit without alot of frills that'll get the job done. Anybody able to give me any feedback on this unit?

Solid workhorse-reliable with as you say, no frills.
Ignore people that say you cant mix with 0.1% pitch....you can.

I actually have a 2000 mk3 sat here which is going up for sale soon. I would offer it to you, but as you are a bit far away it wouldnt really be economical.

A better one is the 2600f, which has loadsa features- but is a bit more pricey.
If you can find one, try track down a 2100- which has looping.
The 1800 has a 'brake' mode which simulates a platter stopping-which the 2000 mk3 doesnt.

Try and avoid getting a 2000 mk1 or 2- they have no jog wheel and you have to track scan/cue with buttons which is more of a pain in the ass than the mk3

with .1% pitch it is usually impossible to have 2 tunes matched 100%. You will always have to be ready to correct.

You can mix with it for sure, but it can be frustrating at times.

Now to the topic: If I remember correctly then the pitch on newer Denon models is more accurate than the display. The display shows pitch increments in 0.1% but its possible to pitch the track with ~0.05% accuracy. its just not shown on the display.

I have played with denon cdj's only once but the pitch sure seemed to be more accurate than the display.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Edit- Any of you have any issues with it playing anything off of CD-R?

Posted by Freak on Dec-05-2005 15:22:

No cdr issues- only when the laser needs a service

I'm selling my DN-D6000 which has loops, a sampler, and .02 pitch resolution. Plays mp3s too. PM me if you're interested.
