Habit @ Candys - Mark James then NYE

quote:
We're delighted to announce a double dose of Habit over the festive season with two massive nights coming up.

Friday 16th December
First up the xmas edition on Fri 16th December will see the visit of Mark James to Sydney, for an exclusive extended set at Habit.

Mark has vast experience as a first-rate DJ, producer and promoter - a string of appearances alongside the worlds largest DJs like Sasha and Oakenfold, productions like Eternal and I Love America, and as MD of the garguantian Future Entertainment make him one of the most interesting figures in Australian dance music today.

He is also renowned for his upfront big room tunes and expceptional ear for the finest progressive music on offer - a fantastic act to be bringing to Habit and his set is going to one of the events of December.

Also in action The Habit DJs, Mish, Andy B and back-room debuts for GRAB and Gil Reemo, full details are on the whatson entry here:

NYE
After that we're thrilled to be returning to Candys Aparment for New Years Eve itself!

Friends, atmosphere, quality music and a top venue - the New Years Eve shindig will have it all as we see in 2006 with style

Expect an awesome night with the usual Habit sounds rocking the main room, the music taking a smooth journey care of (amongst others) Divine UK's Stuart "Goodfella" Staples, Robbie Lowe, The Habit DJs and Tom Da Silva.

Meanwhile the back room will be in full on party mode and dedicated to CLUB CLASSICS - spun by the same DJs who'll be playing sets in the main room. That means the added treat of the likes of Robbie Lowe digging into their massive collections for something completely different

Limited tickets for NYE are on sale now, check out the whatson entry here for all the details...

Two days left - get in

looking forward to a great pre-xmas nite - front will be a carve up but we reckon the back is going to be ROCKIN - got an eagerly anticipated set from Gil, Andy B has been on fire in there lately and has a big crowd coming down plus another debut for GRAB who has been getting himself some rave reviews

think most TT'ers have the discount cards already, but if not just email your names thru to [email protected] for the $10 guestlist

Posted by DJ_Ballistic on Dec-14-2005 09:56:

Will there be another block of Ice in the Shape of an H? if so, who's guestlist do i need to get on to be the one to knock it over this time?

Posted by geordieboy on Dec-14-2005 11:01:

hehe I actually thought it was our friend Cathy who knocked it over last time ballistic, or maybe u were having a dance-off against stage show pony Ricky Martin is how it happened

no ice this time round - definitely for new years though. And if Ricky M shows up again he definitely has a stage ban

i was too busy helping lis fend off short little indians to be dancing on stage

wait now that i think of it i was up there for a bit, so you might be right, then again, by the time jace was halfway thru his set so was half of candy's

Posted by waXology on Dec-18-2005 05:46:

yeah was a top night! Gil rocked it, Mark James tore the place apart into the morning, electro house at its best!

Posted by OLi_A on Dec-18-2005 06:13:

gil did a great job filling the room once he got going

i will not be going out again feeling like i did but if i can follow it up with a day at the beach like i did then maybe

"borat... out!"

Posted by tathi on Dec-18-2005 21:18:

great night, see you all on NYE

Posted by **Xenon** on Dec-19-2005 04:15:

Just missed Gil playing unfortunately, one of these days I'll hear him play a set hehe.

Mark James was good, I was too drunk to care about my hate for electro.

Dunno if I'll be at Habit NYE, might be but unlikely.

Posted by geordieboy on Dec-19-2005 12:32:

top effort Gil - had great feedback about both yours and GRAB's sets in the back room . Always good to see Habit debutants doing well!

disappointing was the change over with the band and sound problems it caused in the main room - we set high standards and bad EQ's and disgruntled bogan rockers interfering with the system is not good!

Saying that we pulled back well, and the system is going to be tuned to perfection for NYE. One crazzy night beckons....
