Good location
w00t go the plateau
Are they going to move some fresh techno into the new location too?
I know this thread is just to inform us of the new location... but honestly, I hope with this new move for the new year Yaz develops some customer service skills too.
I know it's not easy to run a business like he does and the vinyl market is going through rough times... but when somebody approaches you and asks to submit a list of about 8-10 techno titles every few weeks to be ordered from europe mainly, and all he has to do really is key in the order and get his cut but still refuses to do so, I have to give up on techno suppliers in Montreal. That was one of my efforts to 'support local shops', instead since moving to Montreal I have continued what I have done for over 3 years now and just order directly from the UK.
Yaz's response when I asked if he would be willing to try to order some titles for me..
" well I get new stuff every week... stop by the store"
sorry, but I can't imagine limiting my techno purchases to the 5 new titles he got that week.
Anyway, I wish him all the best with the move and his store, but I refuse to shop there again and I won't.
Well, and no offense to Yaz...Its his loss right...8-10 titles every few weeks adds up right!
his new location will rock for sure!
I wish him good luck in his new store!
Dear Manus, beetween july 2001 and december 2005 ( 4 years and 5 months, this equal to 230 weeks) I got more than 12 000 differents references. 12 000 / 230 = 52.17 differents references (titles) per weeks. It's more than 10 times the ridiculous 5 records that you're talking... I agree that the vinyl industry is going down... But what do you want, I am a nostalgic.
Merry Chrismas and Happy New Year to everybody.

Bonne chance pour ta boutique

I agree with you Kate, but for me the funnest part about Vinyl shopping is the crate digging and searching.IMO its worth the few extra bucks cause its so relaxing and i could spend hours doing it.
Oh no doubt there... I love it too! I wish we had more *selection* in this city is the problem, and I fully understand it's not feasible to stock that much these days, which is why I have to order mine from Europe. no complaints in the sense that the price is comparable, the service is great and the selection is big, but I also would have preferred to 'shop locally' given the choice.
I wished there were selling cds and mp3s too.
Serato+mp3 = OMG
It would be so cool if we had Vinyl Bazaars like in Europe.I agree that most of the 12" in this town are house, so us Techno heads are sometimes left wanting.
Me= official white label whore
I bought my first vinyl at Terminal but since then I havent really been back.
I live in the plateau, so I'll sooner shop at Inbeat/DNA/Pop Shop than go all the way to Terminal.
When the new store is open I'll check it out, hopefully with the new store comes a new attitude towards customer service.
RACHEL & ST-DENIS ! I love PLATEAU ! my high school use to be like right thereeeeeeeeee
I Got a email,here,s a update...
Yaz,
Terminal.
This email is to let you know that Terminal will not reopen this week, but
rather after the holidays. The reason for that is that records coming from
Europe will arrive only after the Holidays!
Sorry for the delay.
Yaz,
Terminal.
Sweet as I love the plateau, it's supposed to be in the top 15 neighbourhoods in north america.
All the best of success with the move!
i am behind kate on that point
i think it would be great to be able to order the tracks you really want that are not in stores
and try to push less on the selling's man
im sure that scares off alot of custumers
C'est pas toute dla balle
Joyeu noel
