- Question about mixing songs...
Hey guys,
I'm very interested in learning how to mix my own songs...
Only thing is, I don't know which program would be good for me.
I never mixed anything in my whole life, but I can't wait to start learning it.
Therefore I'm looking for a program which doesn't take me ages to learn, but still has enough tools onboard to make some nice effects.
* I regularly hear the words "Acid" and "Sound Forge" (sometimes also "Vegas").
I found the following programs:
1) Acid Pro 5.0c
2) Acid Music Studio 6.0
3) Acid XPress 5.0
4) Sound Forge 8
5) Sound Forge Audio Studio 8.0
6) Vegas 6.0
--> What do you guys recommend me?
Keep in mind, I never mixed anything in my life...
I don't feel like taking classes for 3years (lol), in order to understand the program.
But I AM looking for a program which has some good tools for adding nice efects to mixes.
I hope you can help me, thanks...
Don't use any of them.
Use Traktor, Ableton, or if worst comes to worst, Virtual DJ does the job too.
There will be plenty of threads on this, search mixing software or something.
get traktor
I know Tractor is good for you guys...
But is it also good for a rookie (like me) who never mixed anything before?
if you're looking for an easy-to-use program to make your own mixes with, you should check out Mixmeister.

Well,
I want to mix my own music for using as a background when doing my martial arts demo's...
^^ jeje cool
yeah I'd say try to get traktor or the mixmeister or even virtual dj or pcdj..these will do the mixing for you if you want; you just choose the song order. There are demos for all of those available.
Ok, I'll start off with MixMeister and Traktor...
But MixMeister has 3 versions (Express, Studio and Pro)... which should I get?
Either
Virtual DJ (Easy to use and setup)
DSS DJ (More stuff in it)
Traktor (Best program but you may get confused)
You should also read how to mix music (im assuming you want to mix songs and not mix samples to make songs)
Try looking here
http://www.recess.co.uk/beginning.html
http://www.mp3-mixer.com/default.asp
That should give you a small idea what to do.
You could just go HERE and download a bunch of mixes you like.. there is some good stuff..
