Turbo NightClub

Do any of you know if TURBO is closed down. I was walking by it last month on a Friday Night, and the doors were closed and the lights off. Last time I went was for Carl Cox, and that was months ago.
Didn't Darren (my global underground albums sucks, I should go back to UNDERWORLD)Emerson spin there too?

I can't get any solid info because their website is horribly retarded.

I understand if no one replies because there's no regular trance night at Turbo, and some of you might have never heard of the club. I'm just trying to understand why some clubs succeed and some don't.

I don't think its closed down... YET. I do believe that it is being sold soon or being closed in a while. Even if it is closed though, all that will happen is that a new name will be stuck on the front, some renovations done and then it will be open again!

Turbo used to be pretty slammin but they kept trying to promote nights that wouldn't bring a proper crowd. For awhile Friday nights were pretty crazy with house upstairs and jungle downstairs, but that lasted for about a year and then KAPUT.

On a side note, I had some good times at Turbo but never really liked the club all that much. The sound system kinda blows, its loud as hell but doesn't sound that good. The layout is alright but I found it to be a bit uncomfortable (in a vibe kinda sense). I think I prefered it when it was Jet, but for the most part just ended up going to other clubs for the most part.

haven't been in there a while either..Turbo used 2 be better in 2000, now its different Darren Emerson didn't spin there, he was suppose 2 spin in Tonic, another lame club

That Viva in Markham was live to air on 100.7 on saturday with Mystic Mike, It sounded like the place to be, Sweet tunes, and a packed atmosphere.
Im just wondering what the crowd is like, asian, ginos not that it matters...also dress code, cause i think im gonna hit this place up fo sho.
Also if anyone has heard that "riders of the storm" remix. Let me know.... im not sure who produced it but i want it bad!

yea i was there last Friday with a bunch of friends .. definately a top notch club. Caught a Kid Epic and Erik S set. The sound and lighting system in that place is prolly the best i've seen outside of Guv. I'm sure the owners have investors with some pretty deep pockets. Crowdwise it'z predominately Asian ( not that i'm complaining hehe :] ) but itz expected given the area it'z located in (Woodbine & Hwy 7). Although I did see a couple of non-Asians there that nite so dun feel left out if ur not yellow.

No dress code.. but one BIG downer: the club is all ages, not that it really mattered since most of the ppl in there were pretty much atleast 18 or older.. altho u did see the occasional 15 or 16 year old but not enuff to really matter. ANother thing that was surpremely fucked were the 40+ year old dudes with jackets walking around the place... man i've never seen such a blatant example of drug dealin in my life, that was just a disappointing sight. THat and all the e-tards all over the place.. but what can you expect from an Asian trance club. Drinks are pretty pricy there too .. (expect to shell out atLEAST $30 bucks for a single nite there).

And yepps itz always goin Live to Air now on 100.7 FM. They were even shooting a promo video for the club when i was there last friday.

I'll prolly be there again on Jan 18 with my girl. Scott Stubs from Las Vegas will be spinnin there. Peter Ivals is also resident every Sunday 1-5am live on 100.7FM. Lookz like this place is soon the new home of the TTC and Destiny DJ's.

btw. $15 cover all nite.. Markham.. itz all posh :P

Anyways I was listening in on Saturday and was impressed, but if you say Friday is also good then even better. I wonder if its just friday thats all ages, cause that does kinda suck. I hate seeing little 13 and 14 year olds walking around chewing their gums off.
Anyways excellent I will definitly check this out, even if Im a minority.
