Auto timestretch in FL
Hi guys,
When you select a sample from the browser window in FL, what is the best way to get it to be auto timestretched to the project tempo?
Thx.
PC
There should be a knob that says "time" on the first panel of the sample's interface. Turn that all the way to the left, and it should be timestretched correctly.
isn't to the left just the normal tempo (what it was created in) of the sample?
I find that i have to go slightly right of complete left to get it streched to track bpm. unfortunately, it also pitches the sample. in any case, it's definately near the left-most side.
Set it to auto.

Load a sample in the sampler
From the time-stretch drop-down, choose 'Auto'
right-click on the time knob and choose 'auto-detect tempo'
choose the correct tempo range
Now it should work.
Or do you mean setting the sample so the pitch changes when you press different keys on the piano roll so you can 'play' the sample without the sound slowing down or speeding up?(in which case you mean resampling)
For that you need to load the sample into the sampler
Make sure the drop-down is set to resample
Right-click on the time knob and set to none
Click on the 'ins' page. Drag the attack wheel all the way to the left (this will make the 'time' light turn on - that's what you want)
And set the key of the sample (whatever the original key was) by right clicking on the note of the original sample above the keyboard at the bottom of the sampler
Then, click and drag across the top of the keyboard to set the range you want to stretch your sample across.
