recording to audigy2nx from mixer
I've been using a laptop to record DJ sets from the record out ports of pioneer DJM600 until a few months ago when I stepped on the cable that was plugged into the line in port of my laptop and broke the port (yes it was funny). I only noticed that the port was totally destroyed when I tried to record armin and after 4 hours of recording when I went back home to have a listen I only got static. instead of getting a new laptop (expensive) I bought a usb sound card (the Audigy NX2). Unfortunately everytime I try to record on it the outcome gets distorted. I tried lowering input volumes but even if I took it down to the minimum levels the distortion was still audible. it seems that the mixer's output is just too high for NX2's line in port and since there's no way of setting the record out levels there's nothing I can do from the mixer's side. A friend suggested using a 10db attenuator which I've tried and even though it has improved the situation the output is still distorted. Anyone knows if there's any solution to this problem?
