Omg... My Car!!!

EDIT: I was just informed of some rather unsettling news... My 84 Toyota Supra was being towed to my cottage to be parked for the winter this morning by my father. He was obviously going too fast down that winding road and the back two wheels slipped from the dirt road and she is now laying on her underside... off of a steep 40 foot embankment up in the haliburton region... it wouldnt be that bad if there wasnt a lake at the bottom of the friggin cliff... After attempting (and failing) to pull the car free from its dirt and rock prision, he used some tow straps to secure it to nearby rocks and trees... he immediately called the vice-president of the cottage association and he will be coming with his grader to pull it... if he can... I hope its still there... and not at the bottom of the lake.

The car is now rebuilt

CURRENT BIGGEST REGRETS:

Took insurance off the vehicle 2 months ago... even though it hasnt been driven in 2 years...

A guy offered me 3500 for the car with no engine and no interior... thats right... just the shell... shouldda taken it

i say let it go down the cliff and while its going down tape it and then post it on TA for our entertainment cos as of lately there hasnt been much going on.

Best of luck.

since we're on topic

i was screaming the same "omg... my car!!!" line this morning when i saw that some asshat had hit me overnight. luckly he didn't hit the body of the car, just the bumper.. but it still looks mangled. right under the tail light theres a gaping hole around the whole corner. roads were slipperly last night, i live in a corner house so buddy must've turned the corner too fast and slid into me instead of the ditch. fuckface!

If you can find some sort of Technical Writer individual on TA, maybe that person could make some money writing posts for you and others to dictation.

I'm Butwheat, how dat dictate?

Dancing Dude

That is some shitty timing with the whole insurance thing. Best of luck with your situation.

I disagree. Without that car, we wouldn't have this:

Respect.

a couple years ago we had our doorbell ring at night. we werent expecting anyone. there was this older gentleman and a younger guy standing there. they told us that they hit the van on our driveway when they were making the turn where my house is located on the street.
my dad wasnt even upset that someone hit his van. he was more happy that they were decent enough to tell us about it instead of leaving the scene.

lollers...what do a 300 hp, 400hp, 600 hp, 800 hp, and 1000 hp supra have in common

I'm Happy as shit now... Friday morning I left for the cottage... the snow is now gone and I figure its a good time to pull my baby out...

I was right... Used my dads 4 Runner to pull it up off the cliff... luckily it didnt fall in over course of the thaw... 3 of us were able to push it up on the back of a u-haul 2 wheel tow dolly... and now it is at home being restored after a long brutal winter...

Keep us posted

Posted by newr on Apr-16-2006 14:25:

Spent most of yesterday and last night rebuilding it... the engine bay suffered quite a bit of corrosion over the second winter its ever seen... Spent 4 hours going at the head/block with steel wool scraping off the oxidization now it is fairly clean looking and polished... mounted the new altenator, started, and headers... finished welding the new exhaust system that will be on it... all thats left to do now is install the hoses that i've ordered from toyota, change the spark plugs, install the intake manifold and exhaust from cat back, get new rubber for my new sunset rims, charge the A/C system, fill the rad, and change the two seized front calipers

Approximate time remaining til its running: 2 hours

Damn I feel like D!abolic always talking about my car... Meh, I'm a loser

Posted by alefort on Apr-16-2006 14:30:

Geez, you can get all that done in 2 hours? You are efficient...

Posted by newr on Apr-16-2006 14:44:

well I have completely disassembled and reassembled a MkII supra at least 7 times

I'm getting kinda good at it
