newbie question

I've been listening to trance for a long time but...i've never come across the answer to this...

what does vs stand for in a title name?

versus?

Coldplay vs. Armin van Buuren & Gabriel & Dresden - Fixing Zocalo {Fix You} (Extrema Edit) (Set Rip)-enTc.mp3

It seems kind of funny to say coldplay versus armin versus gd...so for some reason, I think it means for something else.

What is it?

"vs" is like an "&"...u know

it's been whored a lot on EDM...for me means that the producers are producing (lol) together

but uother times is when its made a mash-up...

I can't imagine that's any good.

It's kinda like a bigger seperator.. for instance, you have:

Coldplay vs Armin Van Buuren & G&D. G&D are one element along with Armin because they did a collab on zocalo, while Coldplay is more distanced from them. So you have the two major elements, Coldplay is one, AVB + G&D is the other, as opposed to having three elements; Coldplay, AVB and G&D. The latter would be misleading because the track is a mash of one track by coldplay, and one track by AVB + G&D, so it should be two elements.
