Where are the raves/parties

I live in Louisiana, USA. I recently got into EDM, trance mainly. I remember back when i was in high school, 10th gradish i think 2001. Anyways i had friends that always went to raves , seemed like every other week. I wasn't into trance back then so i was like whatever. What happened to that? I can't seem to find anything like it. is it just not around anymore or do i just not know where to look?

Trance isn't played at raves.
