Klems Vs Liloo - Fixup {Richard Gale Deep RMX] **Driving Progressive Trance**

hey guys!

here is my latest piece..

a remake of a really fantastic piece by dj klems (xcalator) and dj liloo.

it has turned into almost a completely different track but the whole thing is in key with the orginal and has been made with the original close to my heart (and ears).

after some great feedback from you guys i have made an effort to take the your comments into consideration. this track is a lot more driving than my usual style thanks to a great donated kick (cheers klems ).. and an improvised 'hi hat' - a first for me..

sorry.. there is no cowbell in this one! and the mixdown is currently unmastered and eqed at present.

its on my media page!

Klems vs liloo - Fixup (richard gale's deep remake) sample

comments as usual will be greatly apprieciated!

cheers for checkin clubkiller..

ill repay with a review when im on a computer i can d/l on..

as far as your comments go.. i understand what you mean about it being slow. but thats my style.. i didnt want to go for too energetic as the original is more of an uplifting affair.

id probably say it is my best production but not the most standout tune ive done. i thought the hats sounded quite full to me on my main rig and monitors, maybe the reverb is not to your liking?

cheers again for checkin

mr palm...

cheers for the review mate. im still yet to listen to the new nortek.. ill listen properly and tell u what i think.

reverb: i know what you mean about 'small hall' i thought it made the drums sound quite 'live'. originally the reverb was the same setting but even louder but klems said to maybe modify it. so now the reverb is even less than it originally was meant to be.

thanks for the suggestions on reverb techniques palm and glad you liked most of it.

I agree that it could be speeded up a slight bit,but i like it - its got a good atmosphere to it which builds - a bit like M.I.K.E. (which is always a good thing) and i particulaly like the pads and strings and has some good percussions...keep it up!

I really love it!!!
Thnaks again Rich for your work.
I will post a links soon for those who wants to listen to the orginal track...

mr rodriguez..

thanks for the feed back

i considered timestretching it a bit maybe to 137 bpm but thought the rmx was more of a progressive affair and to leave klems and liloo's original to do the faster work. im happy you mentioned m.i.k.e in there. he is my favourite trance producer ever!

xcalator..

glad you liked it mate! i hoped you would! maybe you should give it a bit of timestretch? everyone keeps saying i did it a bit slow

i like the master job you ve done. it just finished downloading 93mb.... .... ...

it sounds a lot more full and epic now and the kick seams a lot more punchy

look forward to seeing the original on ta!

speak soon klems mate

Hi dude!

Try to get that player in some prominent not to reload again stage of your site, I can't browse and listen at the same time! Pads sound a bit dry, maybe do some stereo stretching and high cutting.

Anyways Im noticing the media part now.. On topic:

Nice hat on the kick. Maybe a that too much verb on the hats.
Low pads dont do it for me. Sound a bit muddy with the kick.. make room! Bells idea is nice.. High strings and melody are ok too, create good atmosphere.

Biggest issue is the mixdown! Also try to put in more fx, variety lacks. The track doesn't make me wanna beg for more. Good luck!

cheers for the review jay.

i take it the first section of your review is about the little snippet of cosmos137 that plays during the website?

thanks for the comments. i think the reason the hat sounds nice is cos of the verbing but it has an adverse affect as well. i thought the low bassy pad is quite overpowering. but i wanted it to be nice and powerful. it eats up a fair bit of headroom

glad you liked the 'bell' sound. i need to start putting some powerful sweeps/efx etc in my tracks i think

cheers mate

its a different kinda tune, i like it

Arrow

Like this chilled style...

@min. 2:40 the break comes too abrupt - maybe you can try to fade out the reverb of the instruments ---> nearly the same effect but not that abrupt...

Low Pad has imo too many low freqs + the reverb doesnt sound that good.

Really good track if you improve the sound quality...

Cheers S-Tune

P.S.: Maybe you like to review my new track... http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...threadid=311183

cheers mr s!

i think maybe doubling up the low pad... one with a low cut and the same delay/reverb.... and another identical but with a high cut and no verb/delay. so the bassy part doesnt see any of the reverb..?

i agree about sound quality. i need to polish all the eq's of each track in my music productions. so no two tracks are trying to produce the low freqs..

cheers s-tune

mr rogers- thanks mate. glad you liked it!

kopi - thanks mate

i took jays comments as a lesson well learned. ill take evn more attention to his points now they ve been seconded!

it pleases me that people are liking this track

hey Rich,

nice track man, i quite like the atmosphere, really reminds me some M.I.K.E. stuffs, which i really like

i really like the bassline and pads, cool work

the lead melody could be a lil fatter, i think it sounds a bit raw,

percussion is ok, you can still add some percloops to the track though, in my opinion,

also add some fxes in places, add work on eqing,

keep it up, mate !

Peter

cheers mycron!

mike is my fave producer ever so your words mean a lot to me!

your points are helpful and ill put all these comments towards my next piece.

bassline ill agree is the strongest point. it was an improvised bassline i did when originaly listening to the original.

**edit** bump

any more reviews?

you have a lot of music on tranceaddict! this is your best track by a long way its nice and bassy and the atmospeare is moving to say the least. ill watch out for the original -is it out on a label? why dont you put a full version on your website? i wanna hear the whole thing without gaps
this is your best rich

Hey Rich,

You know my thoughts on this track already. Good job and it is definately very M.I.K.E.

Although to be considered a full on MIKE track I think it needs a few more elements although that's a question of taste.

The only thing that strikes me as negative about this track and I'm not sure if this makes sense, although it's a very open space sort of track it still feels a little claustrophobic (Now I must sound weird).
Given the lack of elements in the track it still sounds a little busy in places. It may just be a question of panning.

If I was working on this I may venture into the realms of perhaps writing a complementary bassline and adding a few FX just to keep it varied.

I still think this track is worth playing out and intend to do so as I told you earlier.

Good work mate!

Cheers
Karl

hey karl

cheers for the reply..

i think i understand where your coming from with the claustrophoic aspect. im gonna buy some effects sample cd's as i dont have any.. and use all the points people make on my next track.

i look forward to hearing when you play it! and how it sounds.. maybe you should pitch it up about 4%?

sent it to m.i.k.e and had a reply saying he's gonna check it out. maybe he ll like it..

cheers again mate

I thought it was pretty good, but I like your track that plays on your web-site front page a lot more. Sorry, don't have much comments today, but just wanted to let you know that I listened.
