Global Underground...29?

Any news on the next Global Underground?

Posted by Subtle on Dec-10-2005 10:35:

i saw someone post a Deep Dish release in February on the board..

which, if true, should be an excellent GU release

Posted by TranceGiant on Dec-10-2005 12:05:

Deep Dish again?

Although I really liked Warren's latest effort it must be said that the GU series has gone downhill lately. Looks like a best of "deep dish, nick warren and james lavelle" comilation series. Balance and Renmissance have released way better mixes recently.

Not rly.

Gu27 > balance 008
gu28 > balance 008
Lo3 > balance 008

The last 2 GUs have been amazing and all the non GUXX releases have been awesome as well.

FUndacion, Lights out Three, etc.

I think tenaglia needs to do another one.

o rly?

I agree with Shanghai beating Desyn's Balance, but other than that....NJET. GU 27, although by one of my fav. Djs, has done nothing to me...huge disappointment. It didn't create and convey a unique atmosphere as for example Shanghai, just funky-chilly music to have running while driving, but nothing special.

Lights Out 3 wasnt that awesome either...I just dont understand how they always stick to the sam 4, 5 DJs. How about Hernan Cattaneo for once? Tengalie would be a great idea, too. Really love his London mix.

dont know, i heard gu 25 i liked the track selection but i thought the mixing sucked, hopefully this next one will be better mixing

Every label sticks to the same djs for the most part. shit, cattaneo has 2 master series discs.

I thought 27 was awesome, in fact better than 28.. but all of those destroyed desyns balance.. and lights out three, probably the worst of these three imo, but then fundacion was awesome for me, i dig that style, a lot of people dont.

I just cant sell out gu. they release solid comps.

really?

cause I have GU 17 and his back to mine mix, and it has some nice tunes but i just cant stand the bunch of arabian etnic vocal sounds and bongo/congo indian style tracks

Yeah thats definetley a personal opinion thing.. but ill tell you for the first 3, 4 months of having 17 i was unimpressed, then with each listen i would kida discover these little interesting bits, and then they all sort of moulded into one big interesting bit...

Lee Burridge's GU is way overdue..He's done Nubreed and 24:7, he needs a GU.

DT is def for another GU

would love to see Luke Chable drop a GU

I wanna see Dekay ....and Fortier, as bad as Fortier's balance 07 was, ill forgive him as long as he doesnt make another 2 disc heap that i use to put myself to sleep after im hungover.

Im afriad fortiers gonna be left behindin this whole "electro/tech" movement.. Saw him last year, was awesome..

I just hope hes not left behind.

tenaglia would be an awesome choice, personally id like something from him or digweed, even though digweed has released a slue of stuff, i still feel a new double disc mix by him would be very fun.

Otherwise, Sander K I guess has done a number of releases lately, but I think he is soon due a GU release. I don't want a deepdish mix, their mixes were nice but neither blew me away. I'd like a deepsky GU, that'd knock my socks off.

Danny Howells so far has been one of my favorite releases, then tenaglia's london set, the ibiza sasha is awesome (2nd disc) and digweed's hong kong is a good one.

JOHN DIGWEED NEEDS A GU!!!

He would just bust a crazy ass mix with his new sound!

MUST....INCLUDE....PRYDA...AFTERMATH

No. Aftermath is tired already. including a tune like that on a gu? sounds retarded.

Tom Middleton

Nick's release was awesome but I do agree that probably GU 29 deep dish could be fucking shit.

Posted by eRRaTiK on Dec-11-2005 21:39:

second the sander k idea.

zabiela GU. now i'd like to see that.

Posted by stevebutabi on Dec-11-2005 21:48:

GU27 is one of the best, if not The best compilation this year. Balance 008, GU28 or LO3 are decent, but not as good.
I think Danny T would be an eccelent choice for the nex one

Posted by Kooshtie on Dec-11-2005 22:44:

28>27

I kinda disliked 27 for some reason, was boring to me.
