Virgin Galactic - Bringing space flight to the consumer

Due to the unique technology developed by Burt Rutan, this space craft design has overcome the difficult issues of re-entry into the earth's atmosphere faced by so many designers trying to create efficient, re-usable space vehicles.

Using designs based on Burt Rutan's Spaceship One X-Prize entry, apparently. Link Cool! Sign me up.

Only $200,000 a seat

I'm half-expecting that thing to transform into some kind of robot.

only $200,000? Thats it? Originally they were claiming seats to cost in the millions!

For 200grand, thats not bad at all! (i know the space portion of the flight only lasts seconds)

You'll finally be able to tell someone, "I'm in a virgin, IN SPACE"

I've been waiting to say this nearly my entire life. Now for only 200 grand I can be complete!

Coolest aircraft designs EVER. The Beechcraft Starship is super awesome. A damn shame they're being dismantled though.

It's free if you use 2 million Virgin Atlantic frequent-flyer miles

I wonder if Mr. Sulu will fly the ship?

I say us TA's all go up & have a massive Rave inside one of those bad boys.

Zero Gravity + EDM music + alcohol + trying to dance =

Can I join the Hundred Mile High Club on this thing?

Yes you can my friend, Yes you can!

I wonder how difficult sex in space would be?

Also what would happen if floated to a part of the ship where you couldnt reach anything to push yourself off. Would you be stuck & not be able to move?

Posted by VERTiG0 on Dec-12-2005 19:42:

Having sex in zero gravity would probably be the best thing ever. So good in fact that both my balls and my eyeballs would explode.

Just as long as you dont try blowing your load on the girls face.. that would get a little messy in Zero Gravity.

Last thing you want is for that stuff to be floating around the ship...

Hahah no, she could make a game out of it by flying around and catching it in her mouth.

Then everybody wins!

HAHAH!! oh man. thats funny.

A good prank to do in Zero G would be to release a baggy of messy poop into somebodies room then lock the door. Then laugh as you watch the mayhem! And as the other person tries to get the hell out without being hit.

Or maybe im just evil enough to think that would be a funny idea..

200K isn't bad, especially when you concider how quickly these things usually drop in price. I think that by the time the next decade rolls around, these flights will cost only tens of thousands.

P.S. The fact that the damn thing is only 15 feet long scares me
