downloadin now my friend ooooh progressive... cant wait!

love the beat and the percs. specially the bongo. ooh and that nice kick! - much better now your kicks are good!

synth @
29 secs is nice but add loads of reverb to the already delayed sound.. you know, like a large room echo. also turn it down in the mix by quite a bit. also bring it in later on in the track and bring the pads that follow it in at the point the synths come in.

those pads are nice, really haunting. up the volume on that and add some delay. i def think they should come in on their own before that synth comes in.

plucked guitary sound is nice but go for a quick attack and release sine wave instead! with some big delay on it.

break overal is nice but getts a bit too busy and loud for the vibe you have started. try lowering some of the volumes or maybe remove some of the parts?

main section. is again a bit loud for me. its the synth that first appears at 3;33. it just ruins it

i think go subtle with this one. you have hit on a really nice vibe. try and tone down the complexity and instead work with a more limited number of tracks of melody.

this sounds like a grilling but i honestly really like this and its so much nicer than your previous work.. you just get better and better.

i can just hear loads of potential for a minimal chill in this tune.

keep playing with this one until you have it just right cos its a nice job.

rich

oh and ps. BUMP!

hehe nice to hear all that adviceill really take that in my work~!! Ive been turning knobs and eqing for days on that kick it seems
I kinda liked the synth around 3:33.. the ones you hear before are the filtered ones.. im really glad you liked the tune and im rally happy you think im getting better thanks rich! *BUMP*

come on .. nobody else?

Hey mate,

Repeating what the other guy said really but that is a really nice kick you have there, maybe a tiny tiny touch more punch on would is need in my opinion. Reverb I also believe is needed on that early synth to add a bit of extra warmth to the track.

This one builds beautifully and I really think this is more your style than any other styles you've tried out. Would love to hear more of this kinda stuff from you, suits you more in my opinion.

You've created a good atmosphere here with this one and that synth in the later part of the track is rather awesome, what did you use for that or any techniques? Anything in particular? Always heard that kind of synth but don't know how to produce one.

Overall, a very good track indeed, would be great if you could try some more in this style. Keep it up, you really are improving as time goes by.

Posted by linkmage on Dec-13-2005 19:53:

You have your own style,I like that...dark style,you need a PAD-saw'ish pad!

everything said before is true...
keep goin!

9/10

balti, glad you liked the track, dont know for sure what synth your talking about..:0 if youre more precise ill tell you how to make that synth . happy to hear you think im making progress!

Posted by iloop on Dec-13-2005 22:23:

its pretty smooth, but I think overall too repetitive. no new elements that would help the track not get boring after 3min. dont get me wrong, i think it has potential, but in the state its in now, just seems a bit draged out and stuff. good luck with finnishing it- sound levels seem fine and overall eq is good so my advice is to just worry about the compositional aspects,

thanks for sharing.

The synth at around 3:35 is where it begins, its an awesome synth, really adds extra to the track. Not sure if its fx or the snyth itself but would love to find out.

Posted by Takkra on Dec-13-2005 22:43:

I made that synth with the vanguard plugin..you select on sawtooth and one bisaw (can have a slightly different name though) and you turn down the "fatness" to almost 0.. leave it at 10% or something.. play with the release and sustain too

yea im defo going to add more elements this was just an 'idea' sketch, I appreciate the listen !

Thanks for the tip Takkra, appreciated.

Melody and bass dont fit, it's no good. Atmosphere is sad, I prefer dark sounding.

It's not always about placing delays on every synth you make.. And I'm really missing some fx here, there's always plenty in real good prog! Work on the percs too. This is a few hours work at most.

Sorry, but doens't do it at all for me!

Kopi =o.

the track sounds like a bit some kind of M.I.K.E. production in my opninion, but the production itself is a bit empty i have to say, nice sequences, though.

i suggest you to fill the track with some percloops or something, and make a proper buildup for the track, a proper melody which leads into the break, also some fxes would be cool, some distorted fx or something would do the thing i think,

keep it up, mate!

Posted by Takkra on Dec-15-2005 18:15:

whOa thanks kopi

yea the production is empty.. definitly adding more fx's and a real melody.. wow im getting alot of good advice on this one thanks for listening

Posted by Aquarian on Dec-15-2005 18:37:

Intro kinda reminded me of ATB - Long way home for some strange reason

Sounds pretty minimalist so far. I think the intro could probably use something more - maybe like an ethnic-sounding breakbeat in the background, or simply more percussions and effects.

Not really my style so far. I find it sounds pretty empty (unless that's what you intended)

Gets better towards the end. This sounds very proggy.

Like somebody said earlier, it's got potential. I'd definately like to see an updated version later on. keep it up!

Posted by Takkra on Dec-16-2005 21:46:

hi aquarian thanks for your words, stimulating
I think the update will be finished within a week.

Posted by richg101 on Dec-17-2005 04:16:

bump!

hey takkra.

good to see the track is getting a lot of feedback! its a nice track and im looking forward to the update!

after listening to it a few times id say definately remain minimal but use the parts you have to their best. instead of making up for an empty sound with more tracks.. play with eq/effects etc..

still enjoyin mate

rich
