King [AvB S*T*Y*L*E] Jewel - Foolish Games(Charlie Darwin Remix)

First mixdown here guys so go easy on me. I must say I deserve less credit for this track than Jewel, about 4 hours work up till now. I couldn't help my lips moving remixing this one. What an incredible voice this Jewel chick has.

Ill be spicing up the lead sowehow and work on the sound quality. Also some more enviting structure to is wouldn't come a miss. Anyway, enjoy.

Jewel - Foolish Games(Charlie Darwin Remix)

Love Jewel! The original of this is one of my favorite tracks, so take that into account when I'm being harsh on ya.

I have actually attempted a remix of this on my own before, but never got around to finishing it. Though I do play this on Piano very often, sometimes singing it to myself, along with her song "Hands". I think Spirit is a much better album, however.

Anyways, for the actual review. There are some serious, serious synchronization issues going on here. If you aren't hearing it, try not listening to the track for a day or two and then listen to it through headphones and I'm sure it will become apparent. The vocals don't stay in sync with the beat, the piano doesn't stay in sync with the synth, and the tambourine from the original track coming through does not sync with anything. I had similar issues with my Saosin remix (do a search if interested), and I couldn't stand it so I gave up on the vocals for the moment. The track actually kinda spirals into utter chaos towards the end, IMO. Percs need much more punch and variation as well.

I like it concept-wise, but I'm afraid that sync issues aside, this track turns the original dark track into something fairly cheese. Not being rude, just giving my honest opinion.

If you can get these issues sorted out, I'm sure it can be a pretty good track.

Maybe one day I will finish my remix of this.... heh.

Anyways, would appreciate a listen and review of my latest track here. Thanks!

Thank for that one David! Yet I did notice the synch problem, yeah, I noticed the tambourine, geez that gets in the way! I know what you mean with the cheasyness. I think their are more guys who have put a supersaw through a BD compressor than that haven't.

The synch is hard. Ill be searching for a way to quantise and audio track with a variable time stretch... pfff, sounds like hard work. I might even cut bars of 1/1 and stretch them to fit a bar if I have to, it's time consuming but good exprerince I reckon.

I'm off to your track now for a review. Good to hear from you.
