Speaker wiring question

This might be completely far fetched or stupid, but I know nothing when it comes to home audio and such, so please bare with me..

Next week I'm buying some KRK RP6 monitors, and I'm going to connect them to my mixer using TRS 1/4" cables.

My question is, is it at all possible to use the available RCA input to connect the speakers to my computer and use them as my pc speakers also? From reading around on here and various websites, I'm guessing I'll need an RCA to line in adaptor, which will go from the speakers to the sound card, but it seems like that wouldnt work as my monitors wouldn't be next to each other, so the 2 RCA to jack wouldn't be any good. (Pic for reference)

Also, if that's not possible I have a Cambridge Audio A5 amp, and from checking out the connections, I'm guessing that it's not possible to run the KRK's through the amp into the computer, as the back of my amp only accepts nasty old school speaker wire...

Here's a pic I nabbed from google...

Cheers for any help in advance.

you're going to buy some powered( active ) speakers so you using that old amp isn't going to happen.

you could use that cable you posted the pic ( mini jack -> rca ) but you'll need to get an extension.

The other option, so you're able to use the speakers with your mixer and pc is to plug the speakers into the mixer, and plug your pc into the mixer I'm sure you have an extra input available no ?

j dat speaks the truth.

if you wanna blow out those nice KRKs of yours, sure, go ahead and plug them into your amp. i mean if one amp is good, 2 must be better right? WRONG! your KRKs allready have an amp in them.

just go to radio shack and get a stereo RCA cable with a pair of RCA couplers and pull the stereo RCA apart into 2 mono RCAs.

thats pretty much what i did. had my speakers plugged into my amp which was plugged into the master on the mixer. then i just had my computer plugged into the line 1 so i just flick from phono to line when i needed to mix or listen off the computer.
