xone 92 owners.... please help

hey everyone....

i just received a xone 92 yesterday. the outer cardboard box it came in looks like the one that was used to be shipped from the manufacturer to the dealer because it has A&H stickers and quality control stamps on it. however, i cannot tell for sure whether or not this box was re-sealed.

the inner box (the nice, black one that actually holds the mixer) does not have any manufacturer seal on it, like a sticker or something that you would get with a computer to show it hasn't been opened. when i opened it, everything seemed intact, but the white cardboard holding the bottom of the mixer was ripped. (shouldn't such an expensive piece of equipment have a seal?)

i'm just worried that it might be used or returned because i paid an arm and a leg for this mixer, so if u xone owners out there can let me know if u guys received it in a similar fashion it would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,
- brian

Re: xone 92 owners.... please help

Mine came in the two boxes as well... but I'm pretty sure the inner box was taped or something... I'd check but I'm already at work.

That would annoy me too...

i don't remember, but i did find this pic i took while unpacking it... cool thing was i ordered the linear version, box said linear version, but inside was a surprise.

Posted by brinboston on Dec-14-2005 23:07:

it looks new.... mine kinda looked like it does in the pic above, only it was not packed in that foam stuff, but cardboard stuff. kinda hard to explain.... cardboard was shaped like that foam, to absorb shock on top and below. other than that...

i called audiolines today and the guy said if stuff is over $1000, they will open it when they receive it from distributor for insurance purposes, to make sure UPS didn't f*** it up. wut do u guys think? full of shit?

anyways, i'm gonna hop on it now and play around with it.... got it for $1540 shipped so can't complain (if it works).

ordered linear, box said linear, got a rotary.... lucky bastard!!!! i shoulda just ordered a linear and traded ya....

k, so i plugged everything in..... while i was trying to plug RCAs into one of the lines, i heard something fall inside the mixer (i had the mixer on my lap and propped against my desk so i could look over and down at the connections.... i'm not sure where the hell it came from, or what the hell it was.... i looked at the INSIDE of my RCA cables to see if something came loose but it doesn't look like it did. now, i can hear a loose screw or something inside the mixer when i tilt it back and forth. what am i supposed to do? open it up? send it back? take it to authorized service center? HELP!!!!!

Ugh, that's sketchy... send it back!

I just checked my box (as odd as that sounds), and there was no tape or seal on the inside box nor the bag that the mixer came in.

Maybe what fell was one of those RCA plugs that come installed on the mixer?

Beware Audiolines. They are notorious for selling used gear as new. You might want to send it back, get a refund, and contact www.agiprodj.com. My 92, shipped straight from A&H, only had the cardboard shipping box with the styrofoam inserts (and the plastic), with no black inner box (although they may have changed the packaging). Although I have seen some with cardboard inserts instead of styrofoam (I think it depends on the country).

really.... i did not know this. i've ordered from them several times before and everything was sealed properly... apparently they only have a no refund/return policy, only exchange.... they should have done a better job repackaging it because i wouldn't have known it was opened/used. as i've said before, when an item is labeled 'brand new', it should be sealed from the factory. the 92 is already on its way back to them.... any suggestions on what i should do? i don't want to call and ask for a refund, piss them off, and then have themn ship me another used/f**ked up one. anyone else have any experiences/opinions with audiolines?

the service seems to be alright.... i wrote on the letter with the 92 that i've noted the serial number of the unit and for them to send me another brand new one. they're also going to reimburse me for the shipping back to them. it may take another week or so to resolve so i will let u guys know how it goes.

That's pretty decent of them to give you back the money you spent on postage. If you've ordered from them before hopefully it's just a one off.

Posted by brinboston on Dec-17-2005 21:12:

i was told that i would be reimbursed. they haven't done it yet.... hopefully they will when they receive the item.

maybe it is just a one-off, who knows... but considering this mixer purchase was to be my last one (in terms of no more need to upgrade)and i blew a fortune on it, it just pisses me off that i had to send it back. since i've ordered from them before i was not expecting this from them and the integrity of the transaction and audiolines has disappeared for me. They would have to send me the new mixer in perfect, unopened condition without any hassles for me to even consider doing business with them in the future.
