Looking for gigs in Sweden

Hi everyone! Please excuse my english but my Swedish is a little rusty.

I wanted to know if anyone there would be interested in having a DJ from Florida come and spin or knows any promoters who might be interested. Mixes are available if requested. There would be no fee, I would just like the opportunity to play in Sweden whether it is in Stockholm, Gothenburg or wherever. If somebody could point me in the right direction as far people I would need to contact that would greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Craig

The EDM scene in Sweden is rather small you see. We are having a hard time getting gigs around here ourselves. No offence but nobody gives a jack about you (or anybody else), even less the promoters, unless you have a well recognized name...

Well I do have a known name, just not there.

Well I for one have certanly never heard of you. When I refered to "known name" I was talking world wide, not locally. I do also have a pretty well known name here at Campus

Do not forget that we do have some of the worlds greatest producers slash DJ's. In a country as small as ours not even a handfull of them fit into the schedules of the embarrassingly small amount of clubs we have...

Thats true, for a European/Scandinavian country- Stockholm and Gothenburg have very few clubs. Whats up with that? Is the King against clubs there?

Posted by SteveTranz4ever on Dec-22-2005 20:03:

I understand you are interested in coming over here in Europe to play but as Laszlo said... it's kinda hard when you don't have a worldwide known name...
Here in Sweden less worldwide Swedish DJs even don't get much spinnin time... Sad but true.

Would be really fun though to bring DJ's from the states...
The only known from Florida I know of (I think ) is Markus Schulz...

And if the King ruled Sweden I belive he would allow more parties but as it is now we struggle againt the authorities who belive pretty much we are just some drugaddict hippies... sorta.

Posted by SteveTranz4ever on Dec-22-2005 20:10:

Btw. if you come over is it so that you also want to get paid for both the dj-set and the flight ticket ? Otherwise I know a party which you might get to play at which is one of the best in Sweden, held a couple of times every year....

I understand how it is. But just to clarify; Markus just lives here, he's not from here. He and his wife. If anyone would be interetsed in coming over here let me know. We're always interested in bringing in new talent from Europe. I would not mind taking the princess out once or twice to a club. Whats her name? Madeleine?

Posted by Laszlo on Dec-22-2005 20:12:

Well, generally (with a capital G) people over here are so god damn narrow minded. Or should I say brainwashed? MTV, ZTV (TV channel for youths) and the popular radio stations are more or less dictating what should and is being played out in clubs in Sweden. It's all about 50 Cent, Black Eyed Peas, Sugababes and garbage like that. People are afraid to explore other paths in music - if something in a club is being played that they haven't heard before at least a billion times on MTV they just won't dance to it. It's pathetic. And the that EDM is being played on MTV is as good as non existant...

I'll pay my own plane ticket and I do not need the money to get paid. I make enough here. I just want to opportunity to play in Sweden. The women there are the hottest in the world and I want to meet the princess.

Correct. Generally, also that's how they behave. Not that I'm a single day older than 15 mentally, but hey - at least I have good taste in music

Does the princess listen to EDM or go to EDM clubs? And is the security there tight because of it?

Well Sweden is packed with beautiful girls so don't worry about that

Aboyt playing here... what I thought about is that the biggest and oldest party organzier in Sweden arrange a couple of parties every year which has become already as some say legendary throughout Europe.

The "Monday Bar" cruises... Almost all big names have playd there.
Next time they will have the floor once again which they call "Future Lounge"...
DJs beginners and more experienced get to send in a demo and "Monday Bar" pics out about 10 DJ's who they think might be suitable for that floor. I'll be happy to tell you more about it...

Check out Laszlos pics from a few cruises

She goes only to the clubs where they play crappy R'n'b and such music... to all the fancy places where the people belive they have fun cause they are high on coke...

But you can always dream can't ya Imagine her on the podium dancing to some AVB-trance

She does coke? I could totally see her eating some XTC to AVB's 2005 Trance Compilation. Is there a place in stockholm called Buddha Bar or something? I hear its usually filled with hot girls and 1/2 way decent music....but the drink prices are crazy, like $30 a piece.

Haha no she doesn't... It's just like fancy people do coke according to the press and ravers do E... just some prejudices

I've been to Buddha a couple of times with my non-EDM friends... I had actually fun but I belive that was thanks to the alcohol...
Was like 100% hot girls... sometimes they played some house tune... that's the most deacent tunes there...

Think I bought a redbull/vodka for 160 crowns... dunno what that is in $...

Those pics are crazy. I had a girlfriend from there a little while back that went on the cruise and told me how wild it was. It was the summer cruise I believe. She was 6 feet tall, maybe 188cm? I am 194cm and so I told her I wanted some viking kids that were tall so they can play american football and she got mad and left me. It was my way of getting rid of her since I knew they had an assload of hot girls there. My exgirlfriend was more into hip/hop and r & B like the rest of the tools there into that crap but I started her in EDM and now she's leaning more towards it. She plays basketball for the National Swedish women's team. She's been trying to get me to come on those cruises but for some reason I was always reluctant of being on a boat in cold water after watching Titanic.
