King Kong makes 45Billion on first day

So, today with no official work on on-call duties, i went to go watch King Kong. I liked it. Lots of emotional scenes, as well as characters with deep psychologies and personalities. I wouldn't call it a "masterpeice" as many of the articles i've come across have hyped it. The visual effects were awesome and the music was strongly attached to the scenes it played in. Very nice dialogue.
anyways, good previews too. Mission Impossible 3 (tom cruise in a reverend suite?), Da Vinci Code (tom hanks, ian mckellen jean rene, ron howard, NICE), and Miami Vice (word)

be warned, it's 3 hours long and the first hour is kinda boring. Hopefully your matinees are cheaper than mine ($8)

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that you are either being very sarcastic or you meant 'million'.

Either way, I really want to see this movie. I'll probably wait a while to go see it though as the only thing I hate more than people is the act of sitting next to them.

i was expecting a bigger audience with the movie having come out yesterday. there was only like 10 people there. The theater is by far the more populated in san diego

Your matinees are 8 bucks?? Then what is your ticket cost for an evening show?

Ah okay. $45Billion divided by $8 means that almost the entire population on earth was storming the movie theatres. Including probably Osama Bin Ladin. Not too bad.

Posted by igottaknow on Dec-16-2005 19:25:

I never understood why ppl care how much a movie grosses. If your not share holders then who gives a fuck? Do you keep stats on how many Big Mac McDonalds sold over the weekend? I thought the whole point was whether you liked the movie or not?

haha i had 2 tickets for the premier here in el salvador, but didnt go due to exams. Tickets in the U.S. seem to be very expensive, tickets here go for 3.50 after 6pm and 2.50 before 6pm.

its near east LA

I'm going to see this tonight, hopefully. I was really happy about the fact that's 3 hours long. Sometimes movies of this epic are kind of short which makes the story rushed and a bit boring. The first hour i heard is a bit boring from alot of sources but they, pretty much all, said that it's worth to bear with it.

As for King Kong, my first impression is that it's a pretty retarded title to make a remake of. The story is just dumb?

ok the reason for the damn remake is that it's peter jackson's old time fav movie and he's hot shit right now. and another reason is that no one wants to watch the 30's version and the 70's version has one little problem in it...king kong climbs...which building ? there ya go

Best blockbuster type movie of the year.

did peter jackson cut weight or is that how he always looks?
I thought he was like 250lb during Lotr. I always compared his size to Michael Moore

michael moore and Peter Jackson were both alot more than 250. Jackson did lose alot of weight since then.
