Xone:32

I was thinking about but the XONE:32 and I was just curious if anyone here uses this board and what they think of it. I currently use a Rane Empath but was looking for a change.

Please let me know what you think.

Thanks much!

Well I've only been using it for a week! But so far it is SICK!

Its simple, well designed, has great clear, warm sound and the filters are fun as hell!

Alot of bang for your buck if you cant get one of the bigger Xone's I think!

Have you used them during transitions? They help a lot.

Foook yah! I'm pretty sure the 32 has the same filters as the 62 (which I have), right?

In any event, I particulary (I tend to whore it and use it a lot, but this is one in particular I love) I use the HPF on Pryda - "Aftermath," Clovasha posted something like:

quote:
Paraphrase of Clovis86 previous post
HPF Filter on Aftermath = Win

... a while back, and ever since then I've played with just how much of Aftermath I can get mashed up, just basically layering the synth line over anything and everything that's in a compatible key...

But it's great for a ton of things, another thing I love to use it for is to mess with the resonance and the filter depth on break downs to create my own kind of percussive element to the break, or to basically create my own build in a track...

xone:32 doesn't have split/cue does it?

I know that I'm going from apples to oranges but I think I'm going to can the xone:32 and go all the way to the xone:92. I was just doing some thinking about it and I feel I'm going to buy myself something nice for Christmas.

Mary Christmas to me!

I wouldn't go from an Empath to a 32, but since you're talking about the 92. I can't resist a 92.

Posted by SpecRadio on Dec-16-2005 20:01:

Whats the point in going from an empath to a Xone:32?

Same amount of channels, i'm guessing they sound pretty much as nice as eachother. It's a waste of money. Buying basically the same mixer you already have.

If you want filters, buy Xone's filter unit. It's cheaper than the Xone 32. Or, go for some other filter that probably sounds the same, but is 10x cheaper but doesn't have those blue lights around the buttons that make you want to wank off to it in the corner.

Posted by punjabi on Dec-16-2005 22:58:

whatre the possibly headphone listening arrangements on the 32? can you listen to the master in one ear and one of the channels in the other?

Yeah...in fact I like taking out a track using high pass filter instead of the fader...

Once again, pure, unfiltered (no pun intended) ignorance.

Back from the dead..

Im deciding on a mixer, its gonna be my first ever.. I basically dont ever want to upgrade, Im deciding between the djm 600, xone 32, and xone 62. All i want is two or three chanels, i want the best sound. Please help me make my decision if you have used all three mixers.. thanks!

The empath is a phenomenal mixer, moving to a 32 won't make you feel fulfilled.

CDJs or TT?

I think the Xone 62 would be a good choice if you dont want to upgrade.

TT's

Is there any noticable differences between the 32 and 62 besides more chanels? i don't think ill ever need more than two chanels..

Posted by punjabi on Mar-01-2006 18:40:

out of the 3 you listed, i'd definitely go for the 62. then again, i'd say fuck it and save up a bit more for a 92.

Stick to the empath.
Solid quality mixer.
Or switch to the rotary for a change
What you thinking of doing
is a lot like trading your high end bmw
for the low end model of mersedes benz.
Why ?

Ok...well both are nice...if you think you wont need more than 2 channels...and want something smaller...go for the 32.

I wish I had gotten a 62 just cause I want to run 6 channels from ableton into the mixer and use it to mix instead of Ableton's mixer.

With 3 its still fun but I'm more limited.

Do the 32 and 62 have the same features and sound quality?

thanks.

Same great A&H sound...the 32 has 3 band EQ per chanel, the 62 has 4. They both have the same set of filters...albeit with different control setup.

totally off topic here, but i noticed that when we played in point in november. i fooled with the HPF on aftermath and threw in chris micali - kinshasa. that mixer is sooooooo smoooth. i still have wet dreams about it.

ok, carry on...

Yeah...I wish the 32 had full cuts like the 92 (-infinity)

The 32 goes to -26db
