On the 23th of December A STATE OF TRANCE YEARMIX 2005 MIXED BY ARMIN VAN BUUREN will be available on 2 cd's in the Netherlands!

This brilliant mix contains 82 of the best dance tracks of 2005 in a 2 hour mix. This mix will be broadcasted worldwide by the stations which broadcast the A state of Trance-radio show.

i can understand why people that don't listen to ASOT regularly or that don't really know much about EDM and see it in the stores would buy this, but why would anyone that listens to ASOT every week buy this? you've heard these songs a thousand times the past year and they are gonna broadcast it

i dont listen to asot and i wont listen to this.

I look more forward to ASOT 2006.. this is just commerce

I have a feeling that this will be similar to the ASOT 200 episode where he fired through the tracks (assuming on Ableton). It kind of sucks that you don't get to hear more of each track, but at least the constant swapping of tracks keeps the energy high.

ill probably tune in just because i havn't listento asot for about a year( and won't again for aanother year) and only know about half of those tracks

The megamixes of Episode 182 and 200 were both great and I'm sure this megamix will be great too!

Of course you can't compare this megamixes to a "normal" mix where all tracks are played over 6 or 7 minutes.

The idea behind Armins megamixes is an overview of the hottest tracks of the last year.

He made some cool gimmicks in the past mixes when he played 3 tracks at the same time etc...


But of course there's no need to put the mixes on CD because most people can listen to ASOT...

it does seem kinda odd to put the megamix on CD but oh well, cool idea. I friggin love Armin's megamixes. I'll definately be tuned and will probably listen it 5426464645 times after that.

The megamixes are fucking awesome. When you get three tracks laced all together at once and layered perfectly, the random mashups you only hear on those megamixes, they're pretty fucking sick.

It's lame that he's trying to get money by putting it on a cd. I'll just wind up downloading it.

Although Im not an Armin fan anymore, Ill get this ASOT as the mixing is always interesting

It's also odd to put a turntable on the cover when Armin uses Ableton for his show now anyways. I hate megamixes or really short edits. Defeats the purpose of enjoying the songs, just turns it into a pop show, a preview show. If that is what he was aiming for fine, but do you really need to put every song released this year on a single CD/mix? perhaps the top 20 or 30 makes more sense...to me at least.

top20 and megamix are two different shows. same procedure as last year.

I like some of the tunes in here, but most of them is pretty boring.

First we have the Top 20 show and than we have the Megamix show...

Not a big fan of the Dutchmeister Armin, but 10+ points for including the Dustbiter mix of "Don't Forget Me," quality!

ASOT is shit...armin plays the same damn thing every week expect he switches up the order and all the little fanboys cream their pants over it....w00t w00t

I really, really, really liked the ASOT 2004 yearmix, but this...

Sorry. 90% of the tracklisting is not the Trance music that got me into Trance music in the first place. I don't know how I can describe it in different way.

Edit: the only tracks I like would be Primer - Everlast and Duderstadt - Mahananda and a few other tracks... That's the Trance music i'd give my life for. No joking.

Uhm, you liked last years mix a lot but you only like two tracks on that whole list this year? ASOT has not changed that much in a years time. Your taste in trance must have drastically changed in the last year because it is almost the same sounding tunes in my opinion.

No it's not that..

Let me elaborate please:

Last years mix had all nice proggy tracks like:

Elevation - Largo
Hammer & Bennet - Language
Max Graham featuring Jessica Riddle - Gone
Rio Addicts - Crossroads (Original Mix)
Elevation - Clear Blue (Original Mix)
Bakke & Ljungqvist - Fanatic

and so on and so on, but I feel that this years proggy tracks are just not doing it for me. I don't know how to explain it.

Then, last years mix had very nice trance tracks in it like:

Active Sight - Out Of Our Lives
Kyau vs Albert - Made Of Sun (KvA Hard Dub)
Robert Nickson - Spiral (Original Mix)
Nickelson - Yin (Solid Globe Remix)
Mirco de Govia - Voller Sterne (Super 8 Remix)

etc. etc.

I think that 2005 has been the year that has brought us Trance which is the most UNLIKE Trance as I like to see it. (Mind the part 'as I like to see it').

Where are this years Mirco de Govia - Voller Sterne or Robert Nickson - Spiral???

That's what I meant! But hey, it's just my opinion!
