Cartoon mocks trance Djs

Did anyone see this yet? I couldn't find any thread on it. I think it's actually true. I used to go to raves and we wouldn't care who was spinning. Now, everyone's attention is to the DJ. Your thoughts?

My thoughts -

This cartoon has only been posted about 6-8 times in the past month, always with a new thread

Gosh, thanks for putting it so lightly. Happy Holidays.

Sorry, the cartoon, while having some points, annoys the shit out of me. Also, the guy who created it and operates that website is posting shit in the Music Discussion forum all of the time. He's pretty much a bitter little bitch that trance isn't the way it was 10-15 years ago and tries to ruin everyone else's good time who's enjoying things now.

Posted by matt167698 on Dec-18-2005 23:14:

blah blah blah.... who cares? let everyone party for whatever reason they want. whether its cuz armins coming to town or cuz you want to go dance and enjoy the scene regardless who's spinning.

stop being such a pussy

if you cant take it then dont post. there will always be someone whom is vocal and will dislike your post and bash you for it. it will always happen and the best you can do is bash back. by letting people know your a bitch now everyone will bash you at every corner.

oh and that was very very very mild. your lucky i am in a good mood, or you will be crying or even worse highmay

Posted by Wazup8012 on Dec-19-2005 06:49:

seriously i feel bad for the one who made that shit. their life must really blow. hahahahahahaha

PEOPLE FOLLOW GOOD MUSIC AND THE SHIT THEY LIKE. THEY REMEMBER THE DJ BECAUSE NEXT TIME THEY KNOW THEY WILL BE HAPPIER WITH THEM THEN SOMEWHERE ELSE.

DUH

I'm lucky? Why don't you get off that pretentious pedestal of yours? But if that's how it is around here, then I suggest you check your grammar. It's not "whom is vocal," it's "who is vocal" and it's not "your lucky," it's "you're lucky." You're also missing some commas.

anyway, the rave scene isnt dead because of DJ's. it had its time and passed and honestly, ecstasy use has fallen and that was a big part of the scene. nothing stays around forever.

there's def. truth to some of what ishkur says, but recently he's morphed into a bitter and whiny caricature of himself. keeping it real in the ishkur sense is chilling in your boy's basement while an 'authentic' dj spins the latest in crappy and obscure goa for an audience of 6...

i agree...he is an elitist...but there is a HUGE difference from back in the day (pre Innercity, Sensation, 1999 trance rules blah blah blah) compared to today. The cartoon is correct....for the most part kids are throwing their hands and chanting "tiesto tiesto tiesto" "ferry ferry ferry" and not dancing but writing down tracks so they can be the first guy on one of these boards to post a tracklist. Not as many people dance anymore.

To be honest, those fist pumpers, are annoying as hell...they take up entirely too much dance floor and act like they are the shit cus they brought a vinyl for the DJ to play and caught a thumbs up from Tiesto and now swear Arny Bink is their buddy...or some stupid shit.

Call candy ravers what u want....but at least those cats dance more...cal guidos what u want...but at least they dance...etc etc etc...this whole super DJ shit is getting on my nerves and i am finding that the lesser known DJs have better track selection and actually mix better.

Examples:
DJ Demi
Alex Pearce (fellow TA)
Stephane K
Saeed Younan

hahaha shame on me

yeah maybe I was a bit too harsh.

For spinmars:
Ok!!! Sarcasm is used sooooo freely on this board and you should take what people say to you with a grain of salt. Everything is joking, and even if it isn't it is better to take it that way.

Don't take offense to what I am saying I kid I kid. I am a little bit to "in your face" at times. I will back off as you are not aware of my tendencies.

PS Welcome to the board that will make you work and sleep less.

And what's that supposed to mean? It's not just people who follow Trance music. The same applies to all aspects of EDM. The same way trance fans follow PVD, TIESTO, ARMIN etc is the same way house fans follow DT, Sander, Morillo. No difference what so ever. For once Dom, I have to totally disagree with you.

Posted by TranceHater on Dec-20-2005 23:21:

Love

Not necessary the people in the nyc community like myself Im speaking of a broader spectrum such as throughout the world. Most people in the nyc section have seen the light of house. Im not one personally to just love the dj as a god, no matter what he plays. If dt sucks one night he sucks hes human, other tend to say some dj's can do no wrong and look upon them in a higher esteem than they should be.
