I think it's great, different sure but it's got a lot of energy. Also it sounds better live

Ferry is still the only good Trance DJ left...

Producer or DJ? Cuz I could probably disagree if you said either or both.

I'm not looking to argue either m8, it's a subjective thing, but I'll tell you this much:

Ferry > Tiesto, Armin, and PVD put together.

At least his sets SOUND like Ferry Corsten sets, and not just a rehashed episode of ASOT...

Fair enough.

Cubikated is nothing special and I love Ferr. It's nothing compared too other stuff he's done and I think it's going to be on the L.E.F. Album that's coming out in March or something next year.

lol he didnt' even make this song... its originally from 808 state - cubik.. the song is almost identical.. he just re-worked it and put it under his name... it's gonna be on his new LEF alblum whenever that comes out.... looking like its gonna be a piece of shit, so far its a pretty sad comparison to right of way.

fire - hahaha BRUTALLLL
whos knocking - meh could be better
cubicated - just a ripoff

so you're saying his sets differ to ASOT significantly more than tiesto's & pvd's do?

respectfully disagree.

But I'd rather listen to an ASOT than a Tiesto liveset

Even Pocket Damage is better than Cubikated... and I hate it.

I'm not necessarily saying that the tracklistings will necessarily vary a ton, but IMO the subtle variances make a large difference when it comes to trance, as well as set programming, which I feel is an area where Ferry is particularly talented and where I think guys like Armin and PvD stumble a bit... But again, this is all, subjective... Diffr'nt Strokes to move the world and so on...

i think it's more of a case of only noticing the finer details of set programming/subtle variance in tune selection, when you're into the music. like for instance, i'm sure sasha is great at structuring his sets, however because i'm really not a fan of the stuff he plays.. i'd write off his sets as dull & without direction. if i enjoyed it then i'd be subconsciously more willing to pick out the subtleties.

my arguments for tiesto would be the same as yours are for ferry. there's no helping what naturally appeals to you.. i guess.

Well played m8. I couldn't possibly agree more.

Agreed m8, and as I don't even really listen to any trance (Just another victim in the war of the house whores ) anymore, I was just using the example of Armin/Tiesto/Ferry/PVD because my frame of reference for contemporary trance isn't exactly all that varied or diverse.

My apologies if it came off as a shortsided view...

Edit: And before someone jumps on my shit for it, I know PVD is not Dutch...

Best and most innovative track by Corsten in years! That's what I like about him. He doesnt stick just to the trance track but also to the progressive side. Go for it!

hahaha tell me your kidding???? u must not read because he didn't even make the track. Its almost identical to the origial by 808 state. I dont think i'd call this progressive either.
Its a pretty basic song and hardly innovative, but i do like it.

Posted by Sykonee on Dec-20-2005 06:14:

What's with all the covers lately?

First he remixes Duran Duran's Serious and calls it Fire. Now he remixes 808 State's Cubik and calls it Cubikated. What's next, The KLF's What Time Is Love?

Posted by Wyndham on Dec-20-2005 07:31:

haha who knows.. hes falling off bigtime
