Review: Dec 17 Oliver Vs. Oliver "The Gift"

Spent most of the time @ the drink where addy was destroying the place..
At guv saw mark oliver dropping basement jaxx - redalert (mark oliver vocal mix) <--well bullshit of course but i saw him singing to it on the microphone adding special echo voices lol that was pretty cool (dont remember the actual trackname, i think it was basement jaxx but not sure it was dropped at 12:30 if someone wants to correct me), also heard atb-9pm and went back to the drink, then met swamper and chinamon which made my night lol, anyways a great night :P

my two cents...

arrived around 1 o'clock, guv had an amazing vibe ... people were going crazy everywhere .. MO was rocking like always, dropped some ol' classic chunes in there that made me very happy ( don't ask me names cause i don't know :-) ) Props to Mark Oliver .. he always deliver.

i was dancing at from and center, guess TOTAS where all around, i recognized a face or two in there .. unfortunately didn't stayed for too long , u know .. when sex calls :-)

have to say something tho. since i suscribed to this forumm, all the parties have been amazing for me.. (maybe the feeling that you belong somewhere, that there is people like me, who knows). thanks people of tota nation for being so f*cking kool....

whoot whoot!!!!! i'm very pumped for the next one.

c'mon c'mon dance with me!!!!

I'm not sure about Red Alert but Mark did play Basement Jaxx - Rendez-Vu around 2 I think.

ok, like seriously who needs international djs with sets like that

WoW! that was nuts, so much fun some tracks:

punk (knew it would be played)
sandstorm (haha jokes)
zombie nation (more jokes )
meet her at the love perade
airwave (sweet!)
braveheart (oakfold remix) (that was cool and unexpected)
carte blache (fuckin right )
nalin & kane - beachball

seriously their was waaaaaay more, its just not coming to me now, but wow trance! and b4 the trance was fun house!

i was realy digging tonite, for once a mainroom set were it doesn't get all serious and techy, its like dancing in the old days of trance. definately won't be hearing mark do that again (or at least for a year!)

OMG I could not agree with you more!!!!
I think last night was my favourite night of 2005 at Guv.. just do to tunes that I have not heard in forever!!!

Here are a few more to add to your list.. mixes, etc may not be correct but feel free to correct me

Everybody (Yomanda remix) progress presents the boy wunda
Red Pill, Blue Pill junkie xl
Traffic Tiesto
Get Down Paul Johnston
Dark beat Oscar G
Funk-a-tron Robbie Rivera
Fire Wire Cosmic Gate
Lonliness Tomcraft
Need to feel loved (Thrillseekers Remix) - Reflekt ft Delline Bass
Punk Ferry Corsten
For an angel Paul van Dyk

My tune of the night without a doubt Love Shines Through Chakra
Anyhow.. will write a real review later.. got places to go and people to see!

But Thanks to everyone out tonight.. you guys truly made this night even more incredible than it was with just the tunes

Posted by djbruuen on Dec-18-2005 17:54:

yeh seriously!!! it was funny to here mark oliver play those songs, instead of hearing the faceless z103 dj playing it, it felt like hering those songs for the first time when they were still cool (b4 the radio killed them). It was a really fun set to listen to, anyone that likes there music to hardcore woulda been disappointed (but if thats the case, those ppl shouldn't of come, cause this was meant to be a night of fun music all night long and it sure was, it felt like i was reliving a party back in 2000 or something)

Awesome night

Awesome night.

Didn't get to meet any few faces b/c was in my own little friend group..

BUT - damn, that was a flashback mix. Huge old-school tunes - loved every minute of it. Couldn't believe MO was playing all that and not slowing down - not at all. People were amazing also - everyone was having a blast!

Airwave and For an angel were the highlight for me

Popped in for a bit later in the night. What a set.
Sandstorm ....

What a way to end the year..

Posted by ChemEnhanced on Dec-18-2005 18:49:

What an amazing night......definately in my top 3 parties at Guv this year.....MO is amazing. I felt young again with all those classic choons. As soon as sandstorm was spun I knew Mark was trying to kill me....and then to throw Zombie Nation in there just made me dance all over my grave

Got there about 10:30 and just chilled for awhile....at first I wasn't sure if I should stay because my legs were still killing me from Demi but I had a feeling if I left I would kick my self in the morning.....instead I let Mark kick my ass for me.

Met up with Tyler early on....dood I love partying with you.....so much fun.

The real party started when Jenn and Nada showed up....the two of you have so much energy...I wish I could bottle it up and save some for the next time. I tried to keep up with the two of you but that is definately a hard target to reach Sorry for wondering off...I tend to do that...just ask craig how many hours he has spent looking for me in clubs

To everyone one else I met last night......you all rock.....I can't believe that a group of people can bring so much energy to a place.

Ended up leaving shortly after 7 when I tried to dance and I noticed that my legs were not even moving........surprisingly the coat check line wasn't that long.

It was an amazing night and what a great way to end 2005.....now what does 2006 have in store for me

was only there from like 1230-230 but was a pretty good set, felt like i walked into a club 5 years in the past,,, i haven't heard any of that old house for ever, was fun to hear for a change.. got prety hard progressive for a bit, like how he used to play a regualar guv night a few years ago, that was my fav part..then into corsten and silence etc... left shortly after the sandstorm/zombie nation shit, he had kinda started going all over the place with his set... woulda like to stay to hear some trance..o well... heres what i remembered....

-paul johnston - get get down
-armad van helden - you dont know me
-basement jaxx - rendez-vu
-tim deluxe - just wont do - this is the one buddy thought was carl cox, his remix is just kick.
-oscar g - dark beat
-shiney disco balls
-tomcraft - loneliness
-robbie rivera - funk-a-tron
-ferry corsten - punk
-sarah mclachlan - silence
-yves deruyter - feel free
-cosmic gate - fire wire
-da hool - meet her at the love parade
-darude - sandstorm
-zombie nation - kernkraft 400

There was a Scot Project mix of this that was pretty big in 2000. Maybe it was that? Guess I missed it. damn.

I had a fun night hearing lots of good oldies - there were some I would've rather not heard but you can't have everything

it was a pleasure meeting you, dude.
between the main room and the drink, the party was definitely in the drink. i need to change my avatar to a different pic so people dont recognize me so easily at events. heh.
i hope you had a great time last night. i loved it but was too exhausted to dance much.
how do you know lerna?
