Artists like Mr.Oizo

I refuse to believe that Mr.Oizo is the only guy that dabbles in Lo-FI sounds and fuzzy beats.

Lists some more artists that are like him.

Mr. Scruff perhaps? The Avalanches?

lo-fi sounds and fuzzy beats is pretty much the standard sound for most indie-hip hop artists. MF Doom and Q-bert readily come to mind.

I think you are talking about minimal techno.

Check out these labels for example:

http://www.discogs.com/label/Kompakt
http://www.discogs.com/label/Kompakt+Extra
http://www.discogs.com/label/Bpitch+Control

Artists:
Sascha Funke, Wighnomy Brothers, Jonas Bering, DJ Koze, Tomas Andersson etc etc

check out Laurent Garnier - Crispy Bacon if you don't know it yet.

Mr Oizo is not minimal techno at all...
I'd recommend Superdiscount 2 of Alex Gopher & Etienne de Crcy.

I swear i've heard Mr. Oizo stuff in minimal techno or techno sets though, not completely sure however.

yep timo maas

his style is sorta dark deep tech house, with either breaks or trance

Ok sorry I was wrong. Listening to Mr Oizo's new tunes at the moment. Sounds like pure electroclash?

Mr Scruff has similar beat structures, but not nearly as lofi/fuzz ridden. And where Mr Scruff goes for soul, Mr Oizo goes minimal. But their basslines are extremely similar.

First thing that came to mind is the Soundtrack from Fight Club by the Dust Brothers...I think that might be a Chemical Brothers guise, but I'm not positive.

I think indie hip-hop is your best bet, maybe a few selections by Deltron, DJ Logic, etc...

No actually, I take that back. Your best bet is to look at his discography, and cross-reference it with other artists on the same label, compilations, etc...

Oh and Flat Beat seems to be the only track of his that seems to break the mold he has with his other tracks, very Basement Jaxx-ish.

Ohh duhhhhhhhhhh

Smash TV. How could I have forgotten?

Posted by wee_rooney on Dec-19-2005 20:59:

check out T.Raumschmiere, that might be a bit too hard though.

the sets he does with his band are quite good. LFO mix of quatzmonspaner(sp?) might be similar to what your lookin for
