Claim Canada's Foreign Minister Is An Admitted Bisexual
OTTAWA, February 19, 2002 (LSN.ca) - Canada's newly appointed Foreign Affairs Minister, Bill Graham, is a darling of the homosexual activist community having constantly supported pro-homosexuality initiatives including homosexual marriage. However, last year a Toronto-based homosexual magazine called Fab published an interview with Lawrence Metherel, a former male prostitute, who claimed to have had a sexual relationship with the Graham, dating back to 1980 when Metherel was 15.
The story has gone unchallenged by Graham's constituency office, which admitted to LifeSite that it had heard of the story. As a result the issue has become a major embarrassment for Canada as it was picked up in the US publication Front Page Magazine, which repeated the allegations Feb 14 in a story entitled "Bill Graham: Canada's Latest Shame."
The mainstream press in Canada has touched on the issue in a secondhand fashion as the TorStar corporation's Eye weekly Toronto paper has come out in defense of Graham. Eye columnist Sky Gilbert wrote on Feb 14 that "the first thing you need to know is that Bill Graham is gay," and goes on to say that any interest in Graham's controversial past is evidence of homophobia.
While his bio on the website of the Department of Foreign Affairs says: "He and his wife Catherine have two children: Katherine Helen and Patrick William," Eye says, "Almost everyone in the gay community knows that Graham is gay." Moreover, Eye calls Metherel "an ex-boyfriend of Graham's" and Graham's "spurned lover."
Canadian delegations to the United Nations, under previous foreign affairs Ministers, have been one of the world leaders in pushing a mandated radical sexual agenda on the rest of the world, with total disregard for national cultural and religious traditions. Mr. Graham's appointment begs the question of just how much further the Liberal government is determined to advance this agenda.
Calls to the Press Secretary of Minister Graham were not returned by press time.

"I believe I have his support and I have the love and support of my family and friends. People might be interested in that aspect of my private life, but it is not relevant." The result is that the press must drag out old reliable adjectives -- like flamboyant -- to describe him (we all know what flamboyant means, eh?). After his appointment, the Toronto Star could only bring itself to mention that Graham was a member of the "pink caucus," which supported changing the definition of spouse to include homosexual relationships. Unbelievably, even Xtra! could only manage to describe the cabinet minister as "gay friendly." The tabloids, however, have not been so shy. You see, fab (the magazine for homosexuals who hate themselves) published an interview with an ex-boyfriend of Graham's last year, featuring the spurned lover's lurid accusations against the respected MP. In my opinion, this was a disgusting piece of yellow journalism. I remember thinking -- after using the article to drain the grease off my breakfast bacon -- that fab had finally sunk as low as any supermarket tabloid. And Frank, true to sleazy form, reprinted fab's bilge after Graham's appointment. Atypically, Frank (which rarely exhibits remorse) made a pathetic attempt to justify its release of the tawdry details: "Now that he's a federal cabinet minister and a security risk, shouldn't the rest of the country get the story?" The Globe and Mail echoed Frank's sentiments. After Graham (the "flamboyant" new minister) recently deflected questions about the "rumours" concerning his private life as irrelevant, the Globe editorialized, "It is relevant, of course, if it makes him politically vulnerable." I see. So we're supposed to believe that the press is behaving in a responsible manner here? That they're concerned with security issues, not (god forbid) selling newspapers? The press has painted Graham into a corner. On the one hand, they urge him to boldly speak out because he is in danger of blackmail -- but doesn't that very danger (if in actuality, it exists) suggest that Graham's admitted homosexuality will hurt his political career? What's a fag to do? No one is really concerned whether or not Graham is a security risk. The newspapers have finally got an admitted homosexual in a position of enormous power, and they are just itching to destroy him. They would do the same thing in the unlikely circumstance of Svend Robinson's appointment to cabinet. I'm sure other cabinet appointees have complex and perhaps even lurid details in the fine print on their sexual curriculum vitae, but you won't find journalists examining the toilet seats of heterosexuals like John Manley or Anne McLellan, no siree. However, you can certainly expect these slimy scribes to continue to insinuate nasty things about our new gay foreign affairs minister. I have no double standards: I feel the same way about Graham as I do about Bill Clinton and George W. Bush. I support their god-given right to wear pink leather underwear under their dark blue suits if they so desire, because it has absolutely nothing to do with their ability to lead the country or manage governmental affairs, foreign or otherwise. As you can see, this is one Canadian journalist who is not homophobic, and is not the least bit interested in digging up dirt on Bill Graham. Am I the only one? |

if the story in the original post is true...it's quite disturbing...and unfortunately would not surprise me. It's really only in recent years with an increasing emphasis on the rights of children and their need to be protected from predatorial adults, that people realize how widespread the sexual abuse and exploitation of chidren really is.
I'd suggest that everyone here knows at least one person who was abused as a child...whether they know it or not. I think the numbers, if they could somehow be accurately measured would be *staggering*.
That sick behaviour actually happened in Cornwall, where the Mayor, Chief of Police, and the Bishop were involved. It's called Project Truth. Look up this unbelievble, yet true story.
Masons and Knights of Columbus scare me.
If the original story is true, then the White House is sounding more & more like the Vatican.

Fab is a community mag with a huge slant on local entertainment and, IMHO, their journalistic integrity is rather questionable. I used to go to the same gym as one of their main contributors and overhearing how they approached their work only reinforced these ideas in my head. I don't even know if they have a fact checker on the payroll, though legal counsel is listed in the credits. Again, that's all just my opinion...don't sue me Mr. Schwarz! |
