ASOT Top 20 Tunes of 2005 (spoilers)

Disappointing list IMO... alot of tracks I'm not too fond of overall, and some odd placements... I think Armin might have modifyed it to get a few of his tracks a bit higher... for example: Shivers @ #2?

Haha! I'm sorry, but that has got to be one of the sorriest Top Trance lists I've ever seen. How many of those could even be considered trance anyways (and no, pop songs using 'trance presets' does not make it trance)? But, hey, that's public (re: As Advertised On Trance.nu) voting for ya'!

Agreed. I saw the list just 2 hours ago and I thought: forget ASOT 229. Not even one of my 5 favorites is on the list.

And yes, seems as if some retards just voted for Armins tracks because "Armin" is in the track's name.

Edit: by looking at the list it becomes clear what happens with "A State Of Trance" in the next year: more POP ("don't mourn, look at the Top20 tunes of 2005, the people WANT THAT"

Is this the actual top 20 in the right order? Cause it looks like they are in the order of a set wich builds up from soft to more techy tunes...

Amen this does make 2005 look pretty damn crap.

pretty terrible listing.. not really how some got ranked so high and how some even got on there. if anything i think love theme dusk is better than the 8 ahead of it i dunno i dont really like this type of trance anymore... but its pretty poopy

Not really. For example Marco V - False Light ----> Deep Dish - Say Hello. Rather the opposite. It is mixed and I do not like most of the tunes..

Ehm , that transition is quite possible, and also all the other techy tunes are at the end. Cause I don't believe SOS , one of the most hyped tracks of the year, would be on 15. i expected that one in the top 5.

To add "Purple Haze - Adrenaline", also one of the most hyped tunes of the year - missing here. "Menno de Jong - Tundra" missing. "Bart Claessen - Playmo" missing.

That "Air for Life" is on 1. was not completely unexpected by me. The two Armin tracks on 2. and 3. on the other hand are just jokes so high up on the list. The two tunes on 4. and 9. were those Armin played so often that most people probably did not forget about it and their names. 5. and 8. are quite fresh and the people did not get the tunes out of their heads just in time for the vote. And so on.

Not really a true "Top20 tunes of the year 2005" list...

Anyway, ever since Air for life was release i knew it is going to be voted 'OMG the best ch00n' by many people. With all the hyppe around it, it doesnt deserve to be even in top 100. But the list looks like Armin Van Buuren live @ Cheeseland.

And i think its a shame that Santiago Nino's remix of Language is 20th. It certainly deserves more.

So guys looks like we have another "Above and Beyond and G&D" year. This guys have to write a song 'A&B vs.G&D' next year. 100% winner of 2006 poll !!!

I'm a bit surprised at the backlash.

Firstly, this was to be expected.
Secondly, it could've been a lot worse.

I was expecting some trash like 'Tracking Treasure Down' to be #1, or at least something like 'Without You Near', y'know, one of those McProg vocal tracks.

I'm a bit surprised at the positions of 'Shivers' and 'Zocalo', but remember most of the people who vote will be Armin fanboys and will vote his tracks.

There are a couple of harder/techy things in there to keep me happy (i.e. Marco V, SvD, Dogzilla) and to be honest I'm just fucking glad G&D didn't win again.

I like all the songs in it, so I dont care... for me this top-20 is good


Only one thing is a shame and that is that Yahel - Behind Silence ain't in it
