Above & Beyond v Andy Moor - Air For Life

Just read in the discussion page this was the best track voted on Asot this year. Since i have lost touch a bit with trance this year because it has bored the shit out of me, is this considered a great track by anyone here? If so can you tell me whats great about it?

Had a listen and its just the usual inane vocal into the fluff with the standard breakdown. Is that what trance is these days? Anyone care to then give me some of their favourite tracks this year.

Above & Beyond - No One On Earth was the #1 I thought from last year. Whiteroom was #2 on the list.

No of the songs from this years list really blow me away, I dont mind Andy Moor - Halcyon but it is nothing special.

andy moor has done so much better imo.

i dunno its wierd - i guess its so popular because it has a slight electro house feel to it, but still has strong trancey elements.

but there is a fair bit of this sorta stuff nowdays - and most of it is better

This was also voted the number 1 track in Above and Beyonds top 20 tracks for 2005 yesterday on Trance Around The Word, on Minsitry of Sound radio.

Number 2 was Alone Tonight.

This track is very overrated imo .. i really didn't rate it .. the Mirco De Govia remix was awesome though.

It DOES have electro elements to it.

maybe its just me and maybe i like the 'cheesier' stuff but imo i thought this was an awesome year for trance...

not exactly reflected by the top 20 as i thought only a few of the good songs from this year are actually in that list but oh well, still a good listen.

hopefully that isnt the REAL list :\ *PLEASE*

that top 20 looks pretty terrible compared to past years. does it perhaps show the way trance is heading? nowhere?

it also seems like most of those tracks were being played in the latter of 05

Air for Life was one of my fave tracks this years. Was especially cut when I missed A&B play it at GK.

But, I hear lots of stuff that (95% of) I never take the time to ID so I guess it stood out because I actually knew what it was, and heard it often.

Wow. Its such a great song. Not many people are into male vocals but Richard's voice is great. Definatly should've been better than number 8... Oh well...
