Talking The OFFICIAL opinion of judge jules thread!

I've started the official judge jules debate. Personally i think he is an ugly nutter with a fit bird who can't sing with no talent. Now Jules is the only person, i know that has hit a clubber coz he lost his temper. Oh yes, he can't spin worth shit and plays the same damn records over and over and over. He can't dress, his shirts and clothing taste is horrible and he should be locked up for fashion crimes. He married a fit bird but there is one problem and she can't sing worth a crap and i'm tired of these stupid angelic songs. Quit it already, also jules is trying to play harder records like his friend fergie...please someone stop the horror. Also jules can't pick choons worth crap and you people know it. People swear he is the best deejay on the planet......to me he is a FUCKING WANKER. Same fans that support him probably picked castles in the sky to be in Pearce's top 30 songs of all time over Robert Miles-Children. Well i've said my peace about jules and my real dislike of him. Oh another thing, wtf was he doing at GCSSS trying to be an mc......he should have stfu. But honestly, my hate of jules aside, what do you think of him?

hes a commercial radio DJ, that explains it all

Posted by turkish sam on Nov-14-2003 22:00:

ther isnt another way that explains jules better that....
i totaly agree. anyone thinks he is good on decks must be going clubing to pull fat slags <= da judge wont budge

The worst set I have ever seen (worse than when I try and have a mix) was by the Judgepacker at Cream last year. There was him and six of his mates all drinking champagne shouting and jumping up and down on the stage which made the records skip. He was looking at everyone thinking he was the best and saying 'isn't this fucking great?' As it was the last set everyone had left halfway through. He must have looked stupid.

hes not as good as the best djs

tho he has played some great sets to me

I dont really like him, but theres no doubting hes a pioneer and the scene wouldn't have been what it was, without him

Posted by flystyler on Nov-15-2003 11:53:

Im not saying anything andy. I like the way most oppinions are based around what is currently in fashion to say. Not saying your oppinions are. But they seem to follow a trend.

These threads seem to go 2 ways, if the thread starts with say 5 people praising everyone will say he is a good dj, if they mainly slag him off it will continue.

I think peoples views are mainly to fit in, not because they r speaking their mind

I have always liked his sytle as i like the 3 genres he spins

Absolutly

He was once an amazing DJ, and I'm sure has a lot to do with trance being as big as it was in the UK. God knows why he's decided to change his style so much but I don't like it at all. He's a fucking idiot

I owe Jules a lot for getting me into dance music, and I'm not ashamed to admit it. Back in 00-01 I used to tune into his show regularly, and he played lots of good tunes that I really enjoyed, and what I also liked about him was that he was good at finding these obscure tunes that noone else had(altho not all of em were that good of course). It's sad to see that he has gone so downhill recently.

Posted by Technaut on Nov-15-2003 16:57:

friday night 9-11 radio 1

he has played both mint and gash sets to me. dont think he deserves some of the abuse he gets.

Posted by Coup on Nov-15-2003 17:17:

personally i think jules can be quality live, the only reason im not seeing him tonight is im too nackered

Posted by CyberTeraz on Nov-15-2003 22:06:

I have seen Jules play some quality sets, and also some dog shit sets!

I dont mind if hes in the line up tbh...gives people something to talk about!

Posted by ClubHarder on Nov-15-2003 22:18:

Only seen him 3 times and didnt enjoyany of his sets, uses to many accapelas and cheesy vocal tracks for my liking.
TBH i think wen he tries his mixin is spot on tho (not 100% of time tho)

Posted by kiddiejon on Nov-16-2003 17:40:

saw him last night, he's fucking amazing.. as fly said, people only slate him to fit in, if he wasn't on radio 1 every week would you all still hate him? Fair enuff, i agree, his choice of tunage sometimes has a bit to be desired, but at least he's individial, and as for people who say he cant mix?! wtf?!

Posted by Matty V on Nov-16-2003 19:18:

I've heard him play good sets before, but he just ruins it when he gets on the mic or gets his missus to sing live.

It was during one of his sets that opened my eyes to urban train one of my favourite tunes

And the bloody rest, lol.

Jules gets a load of unfair berating though, people tend to just call him crap because its the in thing. People think that if they bitch about him then they must be in the know. Just see how many have a go about Jules in Music Discussion when his name comes up. Its true what you said, when it comes to Jules most peeps are sheep.

Jules biggest problem, lately, is consistency. Hell play quality one time then terrible the next. To be honest I think a lot of it is to do with drink. Im not saying hes an alcoholic or anything but he likes to drink a few when hes playing. Result, dodgy tune selection / mixing.

I like Jules and always will. I wouldnt be into the music I am now or DJing if it wasnt for him! And I still maintain that when he is on top form he can easily hold his own with any of the best DJs one cares to name. Its just a shame we dont see that blinding form much these days.

he's been around so long he can't live up to the hype he gives out. he's totally rich and i couldn't give a toss either way, i don't go to see him, but i don't mind if he's on, and he doesn't give a toss either way, so, erm, live and let live i guess.

Posted by Spin Doctor on Nov-18-2003 21:32:

He may be rich, but compared to all the other superstar DJ contingent apparently his fees are really competitive.

Dan's on a commision based salary

Posted by Misty Kitty on Nov-18-2003 22:18:

He certainly helped me get in the mood as my weekend warm ups on radio 1. I can't say if i liked his tunes because tbh my memory sucks and i can't remember any of it pretty much from 99-01.

He played an end set earlier this year at turnmills i think he was heavier than i was expecting him to be but none the less it wasnt a bad night, just not so much my preferred listening.

I think your a bit of a tosser...

1. If you think jules is the only DJ to ever get into a punch up in a club, you're exceptionally nieve..

2. Jules decides to be an individual in the way he dresses, and to be honest he carries it off well.

3. Jules playing harder records has always been a part of his sets, he was the first DJ to Break both Picotto's Taub and Baugette(just two examples)

4. Who Jules is married to and other PRIVATE stuff like that really has nothing to do with you and the question has to be asked "who the fuk are you to question that?"

5. Angellic is a pop act, Jules doesnt kid on its anything else so why is it even an issue since your so in touch with the underground as it would seem

Also Id like to know how you can judge him to be a wanker when I doubt very much you have never said one word to the guy nor has he said anything to you before...
