Your recommended Radio Show (apart from ASOT)

Okay, just at the moment all ASOT junkies are listening to Armins Top20. That allows me to ask you to present your recommended Trance Radio Show (except "A State Of Trance" please). The reason why I do not want to see ASOT here is that it would receive the most votes anyway. No, I target more at the main competitors to ASOT and at very good or underrated radio shows in general.

I am impressed at the moment by Menno De Jong's Intuition (together with Jonas Steur) at ETN.fm, so this would be my choice. Some time ago this was GDJB but ...

Okay, just summarizing all those radio shows having been mentioned more than once up to now:
Update 03-03-2006--8pm GMT:

---------------

9x:
- Global Trance Grooves @ DI.fm (j00f)

7x:
- Intuition @ ETN.fm (Menno De Jong, Jonas Steur (aka Estuera))
- True To Trance @ DI.fm (Ronski Speed, Precision)

6x:
- John Digweed @ Kiss100 (John Digweed)

4x:
- Trance Around The World @ MinistryOfSound (Above & Beyond)

3x:
- Frequencies @ DI.fm (Giorgio Ponticelli)
- Outstanding Radio @ ETN.fm (Cor Fijneman)
- Hernan Cattaneo @ Metro 95.1 (Hernan Cattaneo)
- Top Twenty Tunes @ ETN.fm (Manuel Le Saux)
- Fritz Soundgarden @ Fritz.fm (Paul van Dyk)

2x:

- Global DJ Broadcast @ DI.fm (Markus Schulz)
- Rain of Tears @ ETN.fm (Galen Behr (aka Passiva))
- D.U.T.C.H @ Specradio (Jay G)
- Sounds of Downunder @ ETN.fm (Andrew Campbell)
- Menno Solo @ DI.fm (Menno de Jong)

1x:
- Lots of shows ....

---------------

It is also interesting to make an accompanying count of the radio stations hosting all the recommended radio shows (radio stations coming without explicit radio show recommendations haven't been counted):

27x: - DI.fm
26x: - ETN.fm
7x: - Kiss100
4x: - Ministry of Sound
3x: - Metro 95.1, - Fritz
2x: - Specradio, - sunshine-live

the only radio show which gives me a pleasure and is worth listening to is John 00 Flemings Global Trance Grooves. It's also the radio show with most new interesting tunes which trillions of other djs already haven't whored to death. Often leaving the listener with heaps of unidentified tracks.

Just like Rebel9 says, GTG is awesome indeed.

I do listen too Above & Beyonds Trance Around The World, they play some really good stuff meanwhile, check it out.

GTG: DI.FM
TATW: MoS Radio and there's also a HQ-stream on http://radio.anjunabeats.com:8000/ that's only up on Tuesdays between 20:00-22:00 GMT

I never listened to GTG, I will do it the next time.

TATW: I do not really like it, mainly because it is so overcrowded with spoken parts.

The HQ-stream, is it 192kbps or 256kbps?

It's only 128kbps. But on the other hand, the other stream at MoS is 32 or 64kbps. Unfortunately.

I think TATW is cool, they play alot of cool tracks, lately anyways and it's been growing on me pretty much. I must say the TOP-20 was a smaller dissaointment, but anyways..

Be sure too check out the True To Trance-shows on DI.FM.

Nope, the radio station is called YOUFM. Click "clubnight" and "playlist" on the left hand column.

I really enjoy Giorgio Ponticelli's Frequencies on DI. Other than that j00f and ASOT are the only other ones I really listen to.

Oh and I did hear Menno De Jongs Intuition for the first time this week and it was pretty damn good as well.

Menno De Jong's Intution does it for me! He listens to the same stuff I do

Posted by Purple on Dec-23-2005 06:11:

Ronski Speed - True to Trance at DI FM is also good, but 92 kbps is a turnoff.

Posted by dslim04 on Dec-23-2005 06:16:

i say "Frequencies" with Giorgio Ponticelli. he spins alot of unknown tracks but yet they are good tracks. He spins every other Sunday on DI.

Posted by eisbaer6 on Dec-23-2005 06:28:

Precision also spinns on the TTT-shows and plays great stuff indeed.

Posted by Thois on Dec-23-2005 12:25:

I have always listened to ASOT the past 3/4 years, but recently (since a year or so) Armin has started to spin more and more cheese (I dislike many tunes he plays nowadays), so I've switched to GDJB (not always great but it'll do), and Menno De Jong's radio show (although he's always whoring his own remix of Serene). I like Tiesto's recent setrips (Heineken Music Hall set was pretty good at times), unfortunately there are not many.

EDIT: Oh yeah, Precision's show I like too, perhaps a bit to uplifting to my taste at times, but good tracks

Posted by Rainborn on Dec-23-2005 12:31:

Frequencies... yes. I need to check out Trance Grooves often though...

Posted by Rockabye on Dec-23-2005 12:49:

Hernan Cattaneo's show does it for me

Tatw is really nice! The show is hyped, but compared to Asot it's very underrated! it's way better!
It's a nice mix between commercial wellknown tracks, and unknown gems.

Ah, you are promoting yourself. Congrats to your own show, by the way...
