I still don't get why the show is called House Pacifique...

Could someone clear this up for me...

Posted by layloula on Dec-25-2005 00:50:

re

First...the show is not yetr FM we are broadcasted throught our website.
Second it s called house pacifique in french because as you may know maybe in the UK (radio 1) there was a show called house pacific ...so we are the house pacifique show in MTL!

Posted by DJ_SideFx on Dec-25-2005 07:51:

Well let me give you a little more details why it's called House Pacifique, thats because like layloula said there was a german show, co-produced by BBC Radio 1 Called House Pacific and i started the radio business in radio1 6 years ago, so when i came here and started the show i called it House pacifique , as an "hommage" to that show in radio 1 and it's Pacifi-que because since we are in quebec the name should be in french, radio rules.

Merry X-mas to every1

You should meaby write something in french on your banners ?

And can't wait for it to be on the FM band ....
They had a show on CKMF i think, it was called "Nuit Blanche" din't worked a lot ...

Hope it will air on fm =) Good luck guy's !

Unless they have 10 million dollars to buy an old license i dont see FM anytime soon...

stupid CRTC...

Posted by DJ_SideFx on Dec-25-2005 19:15:

Marcus without 10 million $ , very soon we're on FM

infos will follow

cheerz

Posted by Marcus007 on Dec-25-2005 19:20:

I've looked into it as well bro, I know this for a fact from the CRTC and I'm not just talking about some receptionist.

The CRTC is not issuing anymore FM licences. The last one that went on auction was for 990 news and was bought for 10 million...

BUT, I'm wishing you all the best. Find a loophole, cheat the system.

Posted by DJ_SideFx on Dec-25-2005 19:27:

hehehe the second option is if a station whants the show to be aired on their fm.

Posted by 404 Science on Dec-25-2005 19:34:

What about Satellite Radio... is that regulated by the CRTC?

I dont think it will be long before you will be getting internet radio in your car... they just came out with the blackberry broadband... the technology is there just need the infrastructure...

Posted by DJ_SideFx on Dec-25-2005 19:41:

Yeah 404 Science, the radio started already to look into the Satellite thing.

They had a couple of meetings about it. and i think it's going to be the next generation of radios here in montreal , like Markus said , the FM are over saturated so people are looking for substitutes...
And i think it will widely spread very quickly

Posted by Marcus007 on Dec-25-2005 19:54:

Yeah, satellite radio is the future. Unfortunately satellite radio still has a long road to go...

The fact that the CRTC is refusing to give out new licenses is absolutely RIDICULOUS! I hope, I pray that the future will change this stronghold because creative radio station ideas are being shunned and ignored...

Posted by DJ_SideFx on Dec-25-2005 20:39:

you're absolutly right...
CRTC is breaking down every creative idea !

Posted by Marcus007 on Dec-25-2005 20:48:

Tell me about it man, they need to get their act together... I really think someone, ANYONE, should bring this complaint to a higher ground, get some federal attention...

"You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one..."

:P
