Posted by RapidFire on Dec-26-2005 03:36:

Posted by iammesol on Dec-26-2005 04:57:

Very nice dj, but his buddy guetta is waaaaaaay better. His productions are GREAT however!

Posted by Tayfoon on Dec-27-2005 04:14:

Don't fuck with sasha. I hear he is VERY good friends with Chuck Norris.

No seriously, just because you don't dig his sound doesn't mean sasha isnt a dj.... or because he is using ableton, because when i saw him a couple weeks ago, right behind the booth, there is no evidence of him not being a dj..

I don't dig the house vibe right now, the SHM, the whole funky house with the buzzy synth.. it bores ME, but im done calling the people who listen to it followers, and calling the whole scene overrated.. because there is a lot of talent, it just doesnt necessarily coincide with what I think is good and what i am have been in the mood for lately- Its the same song over and over again for me, but hey, some people love it...

- 1500 for you

Sasha is a better dj than most in the world. When it comes to him being a dj, if you think using a computer voids your dj status, then you have a LOAD to learn

OH CRAP CHUCK NORRIS?!

stop now before all of TA is convinced you have the IQ of a field mouse

Posted by Tayfoon on Dec-29-2005 01:36:

He did earn it

But then he got lazy and stopped caring

Compare what Zabiela does with ableton to what Sasha does, not exactly the same is it

Also floorfiller, Im deeply saddened that kids on the net wont take my opinnion seriously, your pull in the industry is just so big, I think Ill just die

You werent paying attention much were you.

I've seen him layer four tracks in ableton, live, and throw in parts of a third track while mixing between two, while making the entire thing absolutely seamless.

He doesnt use it for playing 6000 samples at once and play 5000 accapellas over one track. He uses it to weave music together the way HE wants in ways not possible on CDJs/vinyl. And he does a fantastic job.

listen to Fundacion and then listen to the original versions of the same songs and youll see how much he utilizes ableton. he just makes the songs sound so in sync when he blends them that its seemless to the ears. I was really blown away after I heard the originals.

plus fucking one, again. listen to the first few tracks from fundacion by themselves. then listen to fundacion. the differences are staggering.

here's some samples:

beanfield - tides (carl craig movement #1 remix)
beanfield - tides (from fundacion)

hear how he loops the bass from the swayzak tune into tides? it fits perfect, it adds a whole new dimension to the otherwise minimal track. just an example.

or how about the mix into phonique - 99 & a half? he has three tracks going on at once.. Funk D'Void - all that matters, the vocals from closer musik - 1, 2, 3, and 99 & a half. and most listeners wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

click to hear

i don't care what you think of his ableton show these days...sasha has been at the top of the djing world for almost 20 years. to say he isn't a dj is just stupid.

and i'm sorry you're so deeply saddened.
