...and I was wondering how long until it is safe to drink again?
I know your liver and spleen both swell up (or something) and I just don't wanna be an idiot and die if I don't have to, especially with new years comin up. So any advice would be nice.

And by the way, mono is the worse disease I've ever had.
Try not to get it.

i had mono in november. sucks ass. if you want to drink you'll end up in the hospital. my friend did that.

anddd you will be contagious with mono at random times in your life. so in like 2 years you could get someone sick by kissing or sharing a drink with them. make sure you get completely over it before going out and doing things again. I stayed home for 2 weeks with it and that was still too early.

it totally sucks. I don't think I had it though, but a virus very similar. When i got it my throat swelled up so that I could not swallow, so i had strep throat and mono like symptoms. Well I took a medicine for the strep that reacts with mono and gives ya a rash, but I never got a rash. the test they ran on me didn't check for mono, just a blood cell count to se if I had a virus. which I did. plus I know a person got whatever I got and they got the spot check for mono, they failed that test.

blah, as far as drinking, it will kill you....not literally but it will make the symptoms 30x worse. My throat was just starting to swell up and I went out and got hammered. I woke up and my throat was about shut and I couldn't think straight, couldn't sleep, had a massive fever, it was bad.

id take about 3 - 4 weeks off drinking at least. oh and you will have eretile dysfunction too hehe.

Drinking's never a good idea when sick or just getting over something since it lowers your immune system which is already down enough when you're sick.
