I will create a new thread each week; please post your set links and reviews by Monday.

After figuring out the dates, I see some people having to wait 3-4 months to post sets (your name is listed in the order in which you posted in the thread). If enough people say so, I'll rework it for next week so two people are scheduled to post one set each in a week, that way it's still only two sets per week.

The people listed below are unconfirmed. All that really means is that you posted in the thread and after I explained things further, I still wasn't sure as to whether or not you wanted in, so here's my last attempt to clear that up. If you want in, say so, but if not, no worries (I'll omit this next week).

BobbyBrown
Djsketchbag
TheVrk
mushyflowa
Abood
milos

Also, if anyone wants to be included, just say so and I'll add you to the list. PLEASE do not link sets in this thread if it is not your week! I hope I don't upset anyone with this, but the goal here is simply to provide a regimented medium for delivering some bad-ass house sets to the TOTA massive. This 'club' has NO membership benefits except for being included in a list to share two bangin sets when your week is up. Everyone else, enjoy the beats!

Here's a nice treat to start this party...

Joe Drust - SJIRadio 20Dec05

Wow. Ever since my buddy Joe started spinning weekly on SJIRadio.com, he's been dropping some off the wall sets. In the last year, he's implemented a lot of the "recent" electro sound into his style, and he's fine-tuned it nicely. This set keeps you moving from the start, with a slammin' mix from Trentemoller's remix of "Friday" into Peace Division's remix of "Therapy". That in itself sets the tone for the entire hour...I won't let anymore of the cat out of the bag.

Steve Lawler - Essential Club (Latvia) 27May05 (Part 1)
Steve Lawler - Essential Club (Latvia) 27May05 (Part 2)

Steve Lawler made a pretty big transition in his style from Lights Out 2 in early 2004 to Lights Out 3, which was released in Fall 2005. Most of his fans know that he planned a distinct transition from LO1 to LO3, but none of us were really ready for such a large scale change in what he played in his live sets, Kiss 100s, and his Essential Mix from this summer. This set is the epitome of what Steve has been doing for all of 2005. Funky, energetic, electro-infused house, with bangin beats that keep you from caring about anything but the dancefloor.

Great! Thanks dude!

Great idea DigitalMP...as my electronic music tastes mature I am slowly getting more and more into house... and what better way to get into the scene then have other people shed their pearls of wisdom

Trance will always go down as my introduction to EDM though!

I think you ran your mouth or something, so I threw you on the list. And you're staying on it, because I know very well you've got some nice stuff to contribute.

Thumbs up

Very nice inaugural post!

Joe has always impressed me with his programming. His sets always end up in my car CD player for months. Looking forward to hearing this one for a long time.

Lawler Live in Riga! Outstanding choice. Part 1 has catchy hooks throughout and towards the end of part 2 Steve "kicks it up a notch" for a really smooth finish.

Danke!

i'll be a lurker..

It's a deal
Where do i sign?

I wanna lifetime contract

PS. That 2 pt. Lawler set is a nice one.
ESPECIALLY latter part of pt.2

Posted by The Highroller on Dec-28-2005 18:05:

That Lawler set was on repeat for a few months for me. A lot of tracks on the set were played on the Skybar, so it has some nostalgic value.

I really like the way the set starts. Lawler always opens his sets exceptionally well. I really like how, after a few slower, more groovy tracks, he starts with "lighter" tribal, moving slowly into dancier and then more progressive tribal. He pulls this little segment off with style from tracks 3-5, and then makes a transition to that newer Lawler sound that we're used to with Lower East Side - Swordfight.

This is a perfect example of how Lawler's sets always start off very well.

Nice...so far, so good! Everyone's comments have been noted.

Wyndham - this won't be a venue per say, for promoting your own sets, but sets of others that you link, with your personal reviews included. But if you want in, I'll be happy to add you to the list, and you can post when your week is up.

To upload and post links to sets:

First, access www.yousendit.com in your web browser.

Once you're there:

Step 1: Any e-mail address(es) that you include in "Recipient email address(es):" field will receive the file's URL in their e-mail, but I usually just put my own e-mail address in there, then give it to people via MSN, or post it on a site like this one.

Step 2: Click the browser button, and locate a set on your computer.

Step 3: Click the "Send It" button.

A link that can be used to download your set will be displayed when the set has been uploaded. Don't close this window until you see that link (it can take a while, depending on your connection speed).

When you want to post a URL/link on TA, click the "http://" button when you're composing a post. The first text box that appears allows you to enter what will be displayed in the post, and after you click OK, the second is where you paste the URL of the web page or, in this case, the file for which yousendit.com gave you a link after you uploaded it. You can click the "quote" button in my first post to see how the sets are linked. I didn't use the "http://" button, I just typed in the URL tags.

Sites like yousendit.com and megaupload.com typically allow access to the file for a week, but may disable it earlier if the downloads are aplenty.

After some thought, I will be listing two (2) "Househeads" each week to post one (1) set apiece. I was against this at first, even though I could keep it at a total of two sets for everyone to digest before the next week's are posted, but I'm sure all of you are looking at your stockpile, showing your fangs at the thought of sharing your gold sets that people are going to howl over. But in the end, as we reach, say, 26 members, that means someone has to wait 6 months to post, and I didn't want that.

That means RJ and jon jon will both be up next week. Sorry to spoil any plans for those of you that had two nasty sets in mind!

We are going to be treated to some awesome sets next week, that's for sure!

Posted by Sly_Guy on Dec-29-2005 00:03:

lovin this thread already.

but how bout we just do a single thread, and edit the first post with that week's uploads? That'd probably make for the least amount of headaches for the other non-househead TAs, as well as save us all the searching within what would no doubt be a HUGE thread.

I was wavering on that idea, but I decided against it. Here's why:

I polled everyone who is on this list, and most people will be using yousendit type services, therefore making the link inactive after a week (or less). I've also implemented a few ideas to make that not such a bad thing...

- I will be closing the thread when I post the new one so as to let it fall by the way side.

- I will also be linking the previous thread(s) each week, along with listing the sets that have been posted in those weeks.

- After we have run through the batting order once (in April or May sometime), I'll post a one week recap thread where all of the sets are hosted again.

With these ideas, there's only one thread on the main page, and they all fall deeper down as the hours pass. Also, each thread is accessible from the current thread, adn you will know which one to access because its sets will be listed. The yousendit-hosted sets will be brought back to life after each round.

I know I can't please everyone here, but I'm trying my best, and to do that I think I just need to avoid upsetting as many people as I can.
