Plaid

Tell me something about these guys.

They seem to have lots of positive comments on all their albums (discogs.com)

but i've never heard of them, nor heard any of their stuff.

Hmmm well I think they're quirky, alien like, mathematical dorks. Sort of in the vein of Amon Tobin, Autechre, etc, those IDM artists. The only tune I've liked that I've heard is "Little People," it's really bass heavy and ... shimmery. I've only become acquainted because of their remixes of artists such as Bjork and Four Tet (my faves) There really isn't any sort of human feel, of what I've heard anyway. It's mostly symmetical, robotic sounds, yet always bass heavy. It's fun, yes, and what a great name, right? But I find it lifeless and droning? I don't know if that's a word. None the less, listen to Little People!

Edit: Exactly like 9lazy9! If you're familiar with that group.

can't say I have. So how many plaid tracks do you think you've heard in total?

I'll end up checking out some samples on Juno. Plaid have got tons of albums so i'm sure juno will have lots of samples.

Ok, I've found a sample, hope it works.

Little People

I've searched Juno and unfortunately didn't come up with many results.

I've heard maybe a handful of songs, but wasn't ever enthused enough to get into any more.

They've also remixed Goldfrapp and Herbert, two others I forgot to mention that I love. A good friend of mine raved and raved about Plaid. It might be something you really like! Very quirky.
