My messed up cell phone feature

Let me explain:

Whenever someone calls me and my phone is either on silent or I hit silent while it rings I can hear the person calling me while it is still ringing.

So for someone like me who never answers a call that I don't recognize I am able to screen my calls more effectively. For example, when my girlfriend calls me from a payphone she just has to say something while its ringing, I realize who it is and answer the phone.

I think it is the coolest thing and have yet to understand why.

Which model do u have? My phone still vibrates even after I answer so most of my friends hear this "mooooo" sound.

Guess it fits my personality since I can be a cow sometimes ;(

I've got a Nokia 3220. I turn off the vibration aswell. I haven't experimented enough yet to see if this will still happen if Vibe is turned on.

That's kinda cool, but my phone keeps calling the wrong ppl or actually drops-in an ongoing conversation. I can hear both parties talk & sometimes I can even talk back, which is funny as hell.

I didn't to anything to it - its just like this. I'm kinda of trying to find out if anyone can explain to me why it happens but it looks like everyone is as perplexed as I have been.

Well to tell you the truth I have yet to hear about any top secret missions, terrorist plots, or any information that would be considered private while evesdropping on my calls. Mostly its peolpe chewing, tapping the phone or the most interesting of all silence!

This random anomally is only useful for people that already know my phone does this.

Either way it is generally known that cell phones are not a secure or private way to communicate.

You know what I hate the most. People who can read my mind - now those people should be locked up for invasion of privacy. Even I don't want to know what I'm thinking sometimes.

I think when the Conservatives get elected they should make a law banning psychics to protect the privacy of Canadians.

BTW - Cell phone companies starting Jan 1st will also be displaying names. Rogers will be offering it for free for the first month and will start offering it as a feature in Feb for an additional charge (which is no big suprise from these capitalists).

Well, I'm sure that if you put microphones in someone's house that wasn't aware of it you would hear 99.99999% bullshit as well, but I still think you would consider that an invasion of privacy and illegal? I'm totally with Jay on this one, if the person don't know that you hear them then that is invasion of pricacy. I know myself I have sometimes said a few stupid things while waiting for a person to answer.

I think this is probably a bug in the network though, and it probably is illegal. It's cool as hell for you though and I would love it myself too

Well, cell phones (unless you use analog which no one by now should do) are a lot more secure than landlines.
