I'm not sure that we really can compare Tiesto & Lange... Maybe we can compare different tunes, even if it's in all cases a question of tastes!

Dosnt make no odds to me mate, Lange has produced some good stuff, but especially good remixes, also Tiesto has produced some good stuff as well
So i'll mix anything if it is good, and i like it

Tiesto played here the other week and ive been hearing nothing but bad reviews.Wouldnt let anyone near the DJ box and i mean Nobody, his set was shit, wanted the turntables and desk raised up a bit and he got a 5 figure sum.A lot of people here aren't impressed one bit.

There are a lot of haters here, it's kind of the 'cool' thing to hate on tiesto. Like in this case jumping on his back because he wanted the desk raised a bit, so what? If it helps him DJ better what's the problem?

I've seen Tiesto 3 times in 2 years and from my non-elitest point of view he sucked twice and absolutely blew me away once. If he were to DJ in Sheffield or Cambridge i'd pay to see him again, if he had a slot of a dance festival i'd probably choose to see another DJ.

Don't ignore the comments here about him but don't take them as gospel either, make up your own mind about him but i can tell you something that is 100% true... there are much better DJs than tiesto.

I like both, however Lange's latest mix cd had the worst tracklisting I have ever seen.

I totaly agree with you.Personaly i wouldn't pay to see the guy, like you said there's lots of other better DJ's out there and give 110%.Dunno about the whole desk thing, i think thats a bit messed up myself and not letting anyone near him to say hello or sign stuff, not my kind of DJ.
Don't get me wrong here i can happily admit to owning a Tiesto record or 2,Just not a fan of the way he went about things while here.

but on the other hand...

one of the sets of his that i saw he spent 90% of the time signing stuff with very little thought about the music he was spinning. His mixing was well below par as well

and when i saw steve helstrip (thrillseekers) he refused to give me his autograph but gave an awesome set

you have to remember the man is working there
how would you like a bunch of drunk and knackered tossers coming up and crowding you while you were trying to work?

there's usually a little time you can steal when he's done, get your autographs and pics then, djs are usually more than willing to talk to you once they're done playing

at least thats how i work, as little distractions during my set so i can concentrate on flow and timing, but once i'm done, everyone is my best friend

back on topic, lange gets me going

Tiesto

Posted by Ian on Jan-01-2006 14:07:

When Tijs' is good, he's very good, but his lows' are way below the consistent line Lange has been producing at for 7 years now.

examples

Reform (tiesto remix)
flesh (tiesto rmx)
silence (tiesto rmx)
velvet moods (tiesto rmx)
Allure stuff
work with Benno as Kamaya Painters
Gouryella with ferry
close to you
magik journey
dallas 4pm

sure it's not known how much work he actually puts into those pieces, but all are good, and he's had some bad ones like his remix of moby for a start, the space between & many more.

Lange on the other hand has always been good, with stuff like LNG - Intercity and his remixes of lost witness being awesome
