Review: Armin Van Buuren @ Red-Lite
Ok first to review.
So I arrive at Red-Lite around 1h50 ten minutes later I already had a Red-Bull in my hands. There was no line-up at all. I walk around for half an hour and then I took my place just in front of the DJ Booth. Armin arrived with is big smile and he started. We had room to dance and Armin played only great tracks. He even signed my t-shirt in the last hour. At 7h00 a couple of guys from TO and I decided that we wanted to ear one last song. So we wrote in the back of a poster Tracking Treasure Down Please. We show it to Armin he looks at us and finished is set with it. Amazing.

Best NYE Party Ever
ohhhhh man. Bonkers, what else can I say? crazy night
. Everything worked out great, armin was dope, ppl were amazing, just the ears are ringing like a mofo.
My body still hasn't recovered, back to bed!
I wish I could be there last night! One thing is sure, I thought a lot about you guys having fun with Armin ! I hope you all had a great night
And by the way, happy new year
holy balls that was the loudest sound system. it felt like the treble was turned up a little too high because my ears are still bleeding.
@Dk Man : So that why he gived a thumb with a is head saying yes at the end ... awww
Loved it, the best nye party i had since a long time ago !
Got the chance to see linzie and oneeleven ... i've noticed malek taking pictures of chix near me but din't bother to present myself :P
HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!
I was affraid to miss a part of Armin's set because i was partying with my family and my folks took so much time to leave...
with luck i got in the instant Armin started his set.
MAn ! what a show. Its a great way to start to new year.
Armin delivered with a set that was more tech-trance than usual.
there were rumors that the set was being broadcasted... I hope its true
Red-lite's setup was ok. Nothing too hot, just some silver stuff here and there. The sound was freaking loud on the dancefloor.. (thank God I had my earplugs)
and we had room to dance so that was really great!
TOTAs were representing !!! lots of them in the front. Had chance to meet some of them (it was nice meeting you). MTLTAs weren't much there. Malek, Gabby, James, Ashton and Bertuzz i think (or maybe it was Medusa something like that.. lol sorry dude).
I left when Armin finished his set.
so a good 9/10 for that night..
9 cause I couldn't get to talk to my #1 dj
Now that I'm a little more sane, I guess I can address the night more clearly! Overall, great night, amazing vibe and good times all around!
After a disaster trying to get into 1234 during New Years itself (round midnight), we finally headed up to Red Lite round 3ish after some intense drinkage. Having no clue where we were going, we stopped on st-martin at a gas station where the workers were PLASTERED and dancing with us to some beats from the car. Asked for directions, then were on our way. Definitely a good start
Red Lite is HUGE from outside. The parking lot was full (or they weren't allowing any more people in) so we parked down the street. More drinkage ensued
. I made sure to stay clear of the quarry (even though I didn't see it) just for precautionary measures
.
Anyways, got in round 3:30-4? I have no idea, everything was kind of a blur and once we distanced ourselves from the hip hop room and started hearing the beats everything started coming alive! Set up shop in the middle of the house room and started rippin it up!
Took me a while to realize that the baldy guy next to the DJ booth was NOT the DJ, but the lights guy. So I kept saying to myself 'I guess Armin's not coming.' Oops
. So stupid. Armin was right next to him.
Walked around RedLite to see what it was like, definitely impressed. There's a different room at every corner, the bathrooms are fricken nasty but big and the decor was chill. It's too bad the DJ booth is so high, but what can you do. Lot of sketchies in the massage room with the couches but that's to be expected.
Anyhow, Armin was bang on. If you're asking for a tracklist forget it, blame it on the alcohol. He played a bit harder than at Swirl which was nice, less fluffy trance. Recognized a lot of songs from his end of year double CD mix. Kept waiting for Mike Foyle ft. Signalrunners - Love Theme Dusk, but it never came. Dommage. He DID finish with Gabriel & Dresden-Tracking Treasure Down, which was dope. Props to DK Man for the sign.
Ran into a lot of TAs for the first time which was cool! I recognized fayraree cuz he was a sweaty mess with his white towel rippin it up
(I keed). I chilled with Lisa-Loo, Shanny and serapiglia (spelling?) for a fair bit right in front of the booth after my friends went missing (idiots!). Good times guys (and girl), Shanny seems I see you every time Armin plays in MTL, you're hardcore! I think I also met PartEgurl, a TA from NY who's name escapes me and another girl TA that recognized the cast on my arm from Ottawa/TO maybe (sorry missed your name!). Also chilled with what it seemed like the only locals besides me, Charlie and Malek (thanks for all the pics). I'm kind of afraid how those pics are gonna come out considering my drunken state
Ok, this is way too long. In closing, I bounced at 7:30 when he finished and was caput. Home to bed after definitely one of the most memorable NYEs in a longggg time! Props to redlite.

. Maybe cuz it was so damn loud, my ears are killing me and I was only there for 3-4 hours.
omg just an incredable night. i was weraing my black A state of trance shirt and was holding my white one. had him sign my white one i thank himsoo much. he dropped his spin pad but u i thought he gave it too me and i was all excited but he was asking me for it back so i had to give it too him lol. he just threw down the most amazing set. i haven't danced that hard in a while. it was amazing. i did it from 11 pm to 7:30 completley sober (god bless the man who invented red bull) i couldn't believe armin. so much energy. he had me going all night non stop. i was trying to get the crowds going as hard as possible. just the feeling of energy in the room was amazing. Armin was more important and more exciting than the new year count down lol.
i gotta right him a nice e-mail lol.
nice meeting everyone who was there. it was great partying with you.
i mean write. its 7:30 pm sunday. i still haven't slept.
Happy New Year to all..
Well We got at the Club at 11, at that time there was no line up. I met up with afew T.A's later and then went back to my original spot infront of the Dj booth. Waited for Armin to come on, as soon as he did the man just started dropping tracks...What a great set. I don't think I stoped dancing at all....I spent half the night going back and forthe from the Go go dancers cage to the front of the dj booth...Great energy level from Armin. All smiles, jumping arround, the poor guy hit his head on that disco ball afew times...lol..
best part was when someone asked to tell Armin to play Tracking Treasure down so I ripped a poster off the wall and wrote it down...fuucking hillarious...Pure Class, I still don't know how he is not ranked #1...it just shows you that from the people that actually go to these parties that he just simply is the World's #1 Dj.
I hope you all had a great new year and it was a pleasure meeting soem new faces....Oh and Lisa next time will will have our dance off...lol
and if anyone has any links to those videos or pics post em please!
DAMN!
FUCK. So I am almost ready to cry. I missed Armin. FUCK. FUCK. FUCK THIS VACATION (I am in Thailand PS)...

Hey guys.. just got back home now with my girlfriend, Ashley .. INCREDIBLE NIGHT it was great to meet everyone Shanny, Lisa Loo, Fayaree, Clublifexxx, Tia and Malek etc.
We got completely lost on the way there.. but still managed to get in the door before midnight. There was no line.. thank god.. cause it was soo cold! The club had a lounge room when you walked in that was pretty cool and on each side of it was a room. Hip-hop in one, electronic in the other. The opening djs were horrible.. but we met a lot of really nice people. K.. now Armin. When he walked into the booth the crowd went nuts. Armin opened his set with U2 - New Years Day.. perfect way to start his set. There were soo many good tracks and highlights from his set.. that I really don;t feel like mentioning all of them.. but the biigest highlight of his set was when he dropped Sail and then he jumped onto the top of the dj booth and started dancing to it. I've never seen Armin so into a set like that before. He was singing along to all the vocal tracks.. and dancing his ass off.. he really, really looked like he was having a good time. I must say that this was the best set I have ever seen Armin play live and possibly the best I've ever heard from him.. ever. It was unbelivable! Unfortunately, there were no cameras allowed at the event.. but lucky me manged to sneak mine in. I didn;t take a single photo because I didn't want to have the camera flash go off.. but I did mange to get a ton of videos. The problem is that most of them didn;t turn out very well because the club was really dark and I had to hold my camera down pretty low to avoid it being seen by security. But I will post a few of the better videos (Armin standing on the dj booth, dancing to Sail) once I get the chance to go through them all. Thanks to everyone for an unbelivable night! Can;t wait till next time! Come back to Toronto/Montreal soon!!
