[ Uplifting Trance] Static Blue - Beyond (Full Original 320kb)
Hello guys,
It's been quite a long time since i last shared something here, so i thought it was about time to share a full track ! I recently came up with this uplifting "generic-styled" trance track called "Beyond".
here's the link :
Static Blue - Beyond
I hope you enjoy it, and if you think it's good enough then consider it as my gift to celebrate this new year
Feel free to share and play it as much as you like.
Feedback is always appreciated !
peace,
Jon / static blue

10/10

thanks peter
and ap i hope you like it !
Nice track, as always.
Just a couple of things I'll comment on:
Watch your clipping levels. I doubt the kick was originally clipped this much, so as long as you keep the input feeding into the master limiter/soft-clipper below clipping, you generally shouldn't get such results. My audio interface has a strange habit of saturating clipping distortion to a point where it becomes almost inaudible, but at times this becomes ineffective, and you can really hear it killing the atmosphere. I really wonder what this would sound like on a comsumer CD player - not good I'd imagine.
I also thought some elements were a bit unoriginal, particularly the riff at 1:22, and the clap at 1:36. Breakdown wasn't as inspiring as some of your other work I've heard, but still quality stuff.
Mastering could of course be better in my ears, but I would imagine it still being enjoyable in the ears of someone less competent.
Quite repetitive also, but otherwise nice work.
Oh, and of course don't forget to fade endings out long enough.
I could tell from the get-go that this piece was worth the listen.
The bassline is very warm and prog sounding. It's digital without being too harsh, and has a strange bite to it that is conflicting with the warmth of the kick. I really do like basses with that upper-freq chunk to them, it's inspiring in a way.
As for generic melodies... it's always good to have fillers before your real fire comes into play. Let's hope this pays off, as I can see the the atmosphere of the track is already warm enough.
This breakdown has a really good throb to it with that buzzing-saw patch on the bottom. The breakdown really soaks into your pores -- emotional stuff. The arping lead is good fun.
The track could probably use some more bass after the breakdown. THe bass sounds a tad weak compared to the other elements, and should provide a solid floor for all that emotion. The bass should make a solid surface for all that blissful escapades of pads and leads. Maybe if you could layer a triangle/sine-bass or something below it.
Otherwise, I really can't complain, I've heard some other stuff from you on this website, and you never cease to amaze me.
Thanks for the pleasure of reviewing.
thanks for your replies, i'll keep your ideas in mind for the next stuff
to atlantis, i'm sorry you didn't like it as much as my other stuff, and i can understand why
hey jon!
nice to see you come up with a new track!
nice percs in the beginning...
hehe somehow i expected such a bass and plucked-chords!
nice bg fx!
break is really cool! nice choir-pad!
mellow is not my cup of tea, but still nice...
all in all a solid trancer!
keep up the good work, jon!

SITTING AND LISTENING
10/10
I disagree, what was said about kick....
Thanks to linkmage and klangey
glad you like it !
Nice track ..
but just one comment .. after the break i think you can put more energy in da track ..
Keep up the good work m8
quality as always jon
keep up the good work
hey Static bleu
I love those percs at the start of the track, very groovy. It really starts to sound very similar to Icone here, especially that bass and the plucks....but then you bring it to your own style, which is cool indeed. Production is so clear and the bass is excellent and driving. The melody isn't that memorable to me, but I don't care, the overall vibe makes up for it. Excellent song, frenchie.
Thank you guys
Everything was done very well. Technical aspect and all. Great sounds, effects, etcetera. But overall I felt it was too generic, and there wasn't anything special in terms of ideas and melodies.
I expected there to be some really huge breakdown, but the track was awesome nonetheless. I really like your style keep up the good work.
listening
nice sounding kick.. nice perc layers.. nice hat and clap introduction, as i am listening i am noticing some veeery nice mixing, and u threw in some bongos, awesome..
break:
full sounding strings, sound great, after the break, the whole thing goes for a 16 bars too long or something..
i could easily see this signed to Anjunabeats, u take it the way you want..
overall nice production, but doesnt catch me melodic wise..
This sounds very good Jon. Reminds me a lot of Icone / Wim Van Gelder stuff. This contains more variety in sounds I think. Pluck is overused off course and pads arent really that warm because of the high end. Melodywise it's generic indeed, but it's well produced.
I'll be burning this for usage in sets
Thanks for the share!
-Jay
thanks to all of you !
Awesome soundquality. Everything is crisp and clean. It's a nice trancer, but imo the melodies aren't as good as I was hoping for.. But omg I love the way you built the track
Fxs, sweeping pads, lovely percs and awesome break!
thanks alex
glad you like it !
Amazing track! You are top class trance producer!
I like it very much and look forward to your development in 2006
hi kenji, thanks for the kind words
Nice, thanks for the download, I concur a bit with Jay and Alex, but the track itself it's pretty cool
.
Kopi =o.
The percussion at the beginning is awsome the arpegio was spot on - first time I have listened to your work dude and I was impressed at the control and the production of the track. Reminded me of Hugh Tolland's earlier work....well done
