Sample of main hook in track. Tell me your comments.

I have a sample of a track I'm working on. It contains the lead and most of the drums. I personally think that...

1- The lead needs more center.
2- The middle end of the drums need a boost
3- More or less eq on the lead.

There is no bassline or other synth parts, so also take into consideration those parts as they will be added next.

All comments welcomed. Even if you hate it ;-)

BTW This is a perfect example of the raw power of the Infection, my baby ;-)

The lead needs more center is right. I believe the eq on the lead is alright. The sound is pleasant to the ears if that's what you're looking for. I like it all. The drums need something else but I'm not sure.

thanks. I think I'll just create a mono send and send some of the lead to it.

what monitors are you hearing it on?

nice i like.

a piano solo before that with a slow build up of beats would be sick

well if i do put in a piano solo I just got Akoustik Piano so it will be damn nice.

Ralph Novell - Wrong Love

Posted by DJ Ambin on Jan-03-2006 06:33:

Well I investigated this and I found out the following.

Red=my lead Black=wrong love

I transposed the key to match up and the first 8 bars seem to not match up but your are right, the last 8 bars do seem to match up alot. Of course their rythms are completly different and I go off the pattern a bit on some of the notes.

I'm wondering if I should use it or not. I really like my work but i don't want to conflict with another track. Don't think is similar enough for anything legal to happen but of course as you pointed out, it may look lifted.

I donno man it is really similar. It sounds like a remix of wrong love to me. Good job making something similar though, that's a good track.

Well I am going to go ahead and use it but maybe modify it a bit in the last 8 measures.

Shit happens ;-)

I'm not familiar with the other track, but I think your track so far is awesome. I look forward to hearing it with bass, pads, and effects.

My only suggestion is more effects on the lead. Personally I would add more delay and reverb, at least at certain parts.

Yeah, that is also what gets me. All my pad lines, bass lines, and other synth lines don't sound like that other tracks. Seems to be just coincidence.

Well the track other than that is chugging along well. Will look like this.

Intro->Buildup->Sublead(SupersawPad)+2OtherSynths->Bridge Lead->Major breakdown->LPed Pads and Piano->Main synth lead with added synths emphasising high notes(high detuning on those)->Major building percussion->Climax(Main lead x4"maybe"adding higher pads and synths and 2nd bassline as we chug along->Breakdown->Outro.
