DJ Matthias of Houston, TX is quickly gaining recognition within the Texas scene. With only 4 years behind the decks, he has played alongside such global headliners as Paul van Dyk , Gabriel & Dresden , Paul Oakenfold , George Acosta, Kimball Collins, and NU NRG. Matthias has also had 3 of his mixes featured on Proton Radio, where they were aired to thousands of listeners.
Alongside his experience and a critical ear for music, Matt is self-educated in music theory and audio engineering; which he presently applies to his live mixsets and in the future with his own productions. Rather than just simply transitioning from a random track to the next, he ensures his sets always have a direction. On top of the ability to beatmatch with precision, he has learned how to mix harmonically and use that to take the vibe where he wants it to go. For the past 2 years, he has also been known to exclusively rework many of the tracks with his own percussion loops to increase their impact when and where he drops them.
The bottom line is wherever he plays, no matter how large or small the crowd; Matthias makes sure to get the place jumping and keep his fans coming back for more.

Looks good Matt!!!
By the looks of it, things went really well!!!
it was a crazy weekend. once I can find some time Im gonna post a blog over it as there was so much madness taking place in the 3 day trip. Remember the columbian julio that traded me his versace shirt for the vandit one? He and his friends came.
To summarize...I dunno what they do for a living, but they love throwin money around like nothin. They drove all the way from Houston just to have their 2006 BMW to cruise around in, which was a very nice ride I might add..one hell of a chick magnet. And every damn club we went to they just had to get a VIP table plus bottle service. At least 3-4 bottles at that and I'd imagine at especially the south beach clubs that could really add up fast.
The only drawback on hangin with them, and Jojo can back me up on this, is they love to fucking procrastinate on getting to the gigs on time. Cuz of them I missed most of Edgar V's opening set for PvD, and the night after when we were gonna have dinner with Edgar V, Arturo and Kenneth Thomas....this mother****** (since he wanted a jacket) gets it in his head to drive all the way from downtown Miami to south beach and spends nearly 30 minutes buying a brand new outfit, sunglasses and everything. All the while Edgar V is callin us like "where u guys at?" And of course since I speak very very little spanish I never knew what the hell these guys were up to. But anyways..busy work schedule and limited time to sleep but I plan on writing a full report on the madness in miami trip.
As far as the gig, saying it was a great time would be a severe understatement. The crowd over there ended up getting into the more electro-ish tracks, similar to what was played at Gabriel and Dresden, that I had rather than the Andy Moor-ish prog trance so I ended up playing a mostly housey set. I guess that's what Miami is used to, but nonetheless I am glad everyone enjoyed it and VERY honored that Edgar V and Arturo enjoyed the set.
