Classic of the day: Klein Aber Doctor
Atmos - Klein Aber Doctor
The Klein Aber Doctor EP was released in 1999 on Flying Rhino Records with four excellent versions. The story of Klein Aber Doctor got an exciting turn when it was played by a stadium DJ in the German city of Mnchen.
Taken from the booklet:
"The new football stadium DJ of TSV 1860 Mnchen (a German football club) is heavily impressed by the sound system, and plays one of his favorite tracks, just to listen to it one time in the stadium - loud.
'Klein Aber Doctor', the Hit track by Atmos, was the song he played, and which filled the stadium with sound. Coincidentally the football team bus arrived at the Munich Olympic Stadium at this point of time, and only 20 minutes later TSV 1860 Mnchen wanted to know, which excellent track they have listened to. A happy smile on the face of the DJ, and since then 'Klein Aber Doctor' was the anthem being played when the football team entered the stadium.
After this development the DJ had the idea to make a special remix for the football team. He connected Flying Rhino Records, and then Atmos who liked the idea, and was willing to do the remix by himself."
The special football stadium version was named Klein Aber Lwe (Lwe = Lion, as in the logo of TSV 1860 Mnchen).
Out of the bunch of remixes one which distinguishes itself is the Cass & Slide remix. This duo was the leading trance duo at this time, releasing multiple quality releases on Flying Rhino Records.
Their remix of Klein Aber Doctor is one long journey with an epic ending.
A release well worth it's place in the record box.

Cass' old label, those were the days.
It sounds like an Union Jack production production (damn I forgot the name of the track)
Pretty nice I must say.
Nice story too.

Ahh what a classic this is. Time will not weary this track.
Fuckin' excellent choon.
I first heard the Slipstream Original Mix on the Jimmy Van M disc on Trance Nation America, and since then it has been for me the highlight of that set and one of my favorite tracks of all time. The drop before the lead comes in is pure trance.
Personally, I like the original better than the cass version. From what I can tell, the latter lacks those heavily distorted acid stabs, and those were the best sounds I've ever heard in a trance track.
tune!
nice little story to it too
i didn't know that
cheers Rebel
