The first Stereo line-up of 2006...Disappointing (as the last few months of 2005 were)

...With the exception of Satoshi Tomiie and Steve Porter of course

I'm so sad that this amazing club with exceptional sound and such a euphoric vibe (on a good night) isn't bringing some HUGE names lately. I hope this doesn't reflect what the whole year of 2006 will be like at my 2nd home

Bring back: Frankie Knuckles, Fred Everything, Sander Kleinenberg, Mark Farina and Steve Lawler in 2006...Those names would kill alot of other bookings...

Porter.. AMAZING, will be there for sure.

And yes, please bring the Sander... That would be so killer.

Re: ?

re: Jan. Line-up

January is one the slowest month in the year and if you look into any club's line-up in any north amercan city, they'll go w/ locals...just check back last years, it's been always like this.
and also you'll see most of the dj's you named in the next 3-4 month

JD: Do you ever think youll come back to Montreal for a regular residency?

SK: Well actually, Im happy to inform you that it looks like something like this is going to come back in the diary again. This year has been one where Ive looked back a little at both the good and the bad, and Ive intended to go forward with the good.

Stereo was dearly missed this year, and so next year it will happen. Maybe not as a monthly thing, but Id definitely like to come back every couple of months. And whenever I come back, I always get the feeling that that part of Canada isnt done yet, you know? Its going somewhere. It hasnt found its limit yet. It kind of reminds me of New York in the 80s.
"

last time Sander played was Dec.26.03...it was a long wait but he's back again

I'm sorry but I have to disagree with you on many levels. First, January is DEAD. Years after years, it's the most painful time for any club.

Stereo was almost bankrupt not even a year ago and almost closed. They came back strongly, with a lot of big names in october, november and so on... (oscar G, Satoshi, tiga, porter, Rauhofer, Morales, Chus & ceballos, Scumfrog, DJ vibe, Misstress.. in the last 3 months alone.)

And they have also strong locals.

Finally, and this is a trend of the recent years, there's almost a psycho fixation on always having huge names. 2 is not enough in one night, we want 3 and 4... never enough. Stereo has a nice mix of international and strong local DJs and they are strongly appreciated by the regulars. I think they found the right balance of hyping a guest while making sure that people like their residents.

I agree....Montrealers in general are sometimes spoiled....and get antsy in a "drought"...But we always have a solid base of Residents to get us through

It's simple what must be done. Book creator everynight. Than bring a big name each month.
