Bedrock - Santiago

This is my actual favourite song. and my favourite remix is the Bedrock's St James mix.

Bedrock - Santiago (Bedrock's St James mix)
http://mp3.juno.co.uk/MP3/SF200672-02-01-01.mp3

And the best part is that the lyrics are in spanish, well, not the lyrics but the phrases that the woman says. Spanish lyrics are something very unusual in dance records.

What do you think about this record? And if you dont like it, whats your favourite record in the progressive genre?

Cheers.

no, yesterday you said that that shitty female vocal dance tune was the best you heard. and now you change to this :P
I bet you are what the norwegians would call a "quisling"

Posted by Floorfiller on Jan-04-2006 23:38:

i like the bedrock mix, but i think i might like the Parallel Sound Edit even more...has that great summer feeling to it...just sounds good...they tweek it in all the right places...

Bog-prog.

Oh wait, I can't call it that anymore. Boring "electro house", then.

[shameless self-promotion]

As a matter of fact, I just wrote a review of the release, over on TranceCritic!

[/shameless self-promotion]

I prefer Bedrock's La Coruna Mix, myself. Much more distinctively Latin.

am I the only one that thinks this is a really overrated tune?
I bet it's because it carries the Bedrock name.

Speaking of TranceCritic, RebeL9, you would be a great person to write reviews, I think.

You aren't the only one. It's ok. It keeps things moving. But not much else. And those Spanish lyrics get a bit repetative.

RebeL9, you seem pretty interesting, and i like your attitude lol. Just a question, ok? Are you a girl or a boy? and are you a dj?

I think this track is boring, but my favorite progressive song at the moment would be "Tiga" by Harry Lemon. Thanks to Floorfiller for that recommendation.

yeah I rank him among the top DJs from here. He's done alot for Swedish techno internationally.

Posted by globalelectro on Jan-05-2006 00:26:

Yes i know, i like his fabric cd. Ive been to Norway once but never to sweden. How is the scene there?

Posted by Clovis on Jan-05-2006 00:27:

I think the St James mix is boring, La Coruna and Parralel Sound edit are ftw.

The EDM scene has always been tiny here. It's strange since we do have some really internationally famous acts within techno (Beyer, Cari Lekebush, Hardcell, Hertz, Joel Mull etc), trance (Son Kite, Ticon, Vibrasphere, 12Moons, Human Blue, Andromeda, Airbase) and house (Jesper Dahlbck, Eric Prydz, Sebastian Ingrosso, Axwell, Angello, zgur Can).
One of the reasons is that electronic music has always been seen with bad eyes by the politicians. We even had a commission until not long ago which was basicly a police force which cracked down on every rave in Sweden.
Party organizers are dealing with both prejudices and narrowminded politicians. The club climate is just as cold as the weather sometimes.

Posted by globalelectro on Jan-05-2006 00:47:

Well, thats pretty sad... It's basically the same in Norway, from what i saw. But here in Miami it is kind of cool. Even though i dont get that much time to go to clubs (just like every 3 weeks), but we have Club Space, which was classified as the number 1 Dance Club in the world.

So, if you ever come to Miami, just let me know. I would be pleased to show you the clubs. and the weather is very hot must of the time. Around 89 degrees farenhaeit.

Im serious about that. Oh, by the way. Im 21 years old, and im a boy. My name is Charles. I was born in London but ive been living here since i was 12 years old.

Space #1? Oh good god.

Never liked their soundsystem too much; overbearing and bass-heavy, even for a big club. Alot of the detail to the music seemed drowned out by low-end intensity.
