2002 prog

A la Chable, Sasha and Digweed....

...when will it come back?

I love this sound.

Posted by RapidFire on Jan-06-2006 04:48:

dont wory itll come back. society loves to rehash the same shit over and over again. every musical trend from the 80's has made a comeback so just give it a couple of years.

Sleepy prog finally dies and you want it back?!

Maybe that's what people think when I complain about progressive trance.

You beat me to the punch.

Posted by RapidFire on Jan-06-2006 05:13:

2002 was good but Id say his 1999 new years set tops any of his 02 stuff.

Posted by stevieboy32808 on Jan-06-2006 05:14:

I don't really know anything about Sasha except for that one song he made called "Scorchio". There must be a reason why this song sticks like a sore thumb in my head over his entire catalogue. Would someone please educate me with more songs like this from Sasha?

See, this guy knows what he's talking about.

oooooooo damn his 99 new years set kicked asssss

Posted by Clovis on Jan-06-2006 05:39:

Why havn't I heard this set. Fucking hell.

And yes that Delta Heavy mix is sick.

We Are All Made Of Stars (Timo Maas Dub) x2...but it sounds sick both times.

I read some interview with Diggers saying that he thinks that the prog house movement is coming to an end so maybe it'll go back.

Depends which one we're talking about. 01-01-99 or 31-12-99? They're both among the best sets I've ever heard, though I like the New Year's Eve 2000 set better. Ethnicolor into Dark & Long, with the crowd in back, still gives me shivers.

You might be thinking of this one.

I love the Delta Heavy sound! It's one of my biggest influences and I missed the clubbing experiences with it

As much as I want it to come back, I think this new electro/prog stuff is more "our" music. Maybe becauase this is what's around as I first start going out?

I'd say that (the EM) is one of the few good examples of that year's progressive trance/house. Maybe that's just me being nostalgic though.

In general, I didn't like the progressive sound around 2002; the Delta Heavy EM was an exception. It succeeded in making the usual ploddy post-millennial prog really sleek and intoxicating. But I think the set sounds positively bouncy compared with most of the stuff from then, which just bored me to tears (or snores). As a die-hard '99 Sasha fan, it was especially tragic.
