that's exactly what i was just gonna post.

i think 90% of us are audiophiles. bad sound = bad mood all night.
...we're really fucking spoiled with the sound systems in the major clubs in ny. this is gonna reek soundwise.

Are they really that dissatisfied with all the clubs in NYC that they decided to book him at this shithole?

Is this place bigger than Crobar or Roxy? Maybe they are just trying to milk as much money as they can out of this event and pack it senseless.

Posted by LuNaSeA on Jan-06-2006 06:09:

who knows what the real deal is.

last time i was there was like 1998? for oakey. damn that was awesome. my ears bled.

I like the idea of DJ's expermenting with new venues. As long as the venue is not a bar or lounge. Don't you guys ever get sick of going to the same place all the time? Roseland usually holds concerts and was able to handle a 24 Hour JP New Years Eve party, so give them a chance.

Where is the location?

52nd & broadway.

the acoustics are shite.

Posted by BitchBoyNYC on Jan-06-2006 12:31:

so many good points you all brought up. I kind of agree with Tom about checking out new venues, but, I agree with Dani about the sound being an important part of the night. I don't know about this. A little leary.

i think most of us agree with you on the checking out new venues part. it's the sound systems we can't take tom

I'll make a trip to NYC for it, but you guys are scaring me about the sound system....
all I can think of is PVD @ Ikon last NYE - my ears rang for three days... hope this isn't a repeat

Roseland? LOL

Posted by Dany Veltri on Jan-06-2006 14:32:

I don't know, I think it has potential.... I saw Velvet Revolver there last year, and it sounded okay. I'm sure they'll tweek the system. Plus the venue is big, should be lots of room.

Posted by PvDoBseSSioN on Jan-06-2006 14:38:

what is this suppose to be PvD in Concert

Posted by phuzzyfish12 on Jan-06-2006 15:18:

Being done by Made-Events again who did Summerstage and Roxy for him. I think that might help somewhat....

Posted by Dany Veltri on Jan-06-2006 15:32:

^^^ Agreed about Made. I guess Crobar is too small... and Roxy will be shut down by then. Where else is would he play?

Posted by EarnYourKeep on Jan-06-2006 16:00:

i dont know about you kids but when JP played at roseland the sound was perfectly fine! there was this nice big room bassline reverb in the space and it was comfortable for alot of people which pvd usually attracts. don't count me in for it though, i'm leaning more towards snowboarding these days...

up with boards down with clubs....
