Best Rave Location in Montreal

Some major Montreal rave should re-think the location they picked for their events. You and I have first hand experience with these locations to tell which is more suitable for a 14hrs party that usually gathers over 7000 people.

Take into account the following aspects:

  1. Sound System
  2. Bathrooms
  3. Space
  4. Lights
  5. Dance floor
  6. Cold tap water

Go ahead, speak out. A good place is almost half the fun.

My opinion: the worst is Palais des congres and I think Bal en Blanc should consider Bell Center this year.

Peace.

Bell Center... Cream 2004 whoa!

Palais pretty nice but not enough washrooms

question: do you guys get a lot of unofficial raves in or around montreal? by 'rave' i mean barely promoted, low budget, with underground artists. like the ones that have their locations announced hours before they begin. thanks

Palais des congres
dance floor is less compact
sound.... DEFINITELY not Bell Center... i dont know about Celebration but i went to Cream 2004 and i had to be in the center of the dance floor not to feel the MAJOR echo created by havin speakers facin each other... i was really annoyed by that and even if the music was good (mostly Sander's part) i couldn't get it out of my mind

we use to have more
i guess im not informed on that anymore but i think the stuff we have is well promoted for the crowd it intends to attract

hehehe

Mekroon, I agree with you, CREAM2004 sound system was very bad on the edges but this has changes impressively with Celebration2006. Maybe Godskitchen involved their specialist in sound tuning,

+1 Creams sound system was veeeery particular...like Meo said, if you're not in the middle, the echo is unbearable..hopefully it has changed since...
I agree with the Palais des congres....
but my all time fave, back in tha day venue....Just for Laughs museum....NINJA.

Yeah there are. A friend of mine went to one not too long ago (two months ago, or so). He was supposed to go to one on new year's eve, but decided to go to Aria instead. Good times were had.

I really don't have much experience in the larger parties in Montreal, although I loved Celebration.

Bell Center would be too small for Bal En Blanc. Don't forget bal en blanc has 2 rooms house and trance ... but the place is amazing for sure

i don't think that any of the promoters would like their events' name be put in the same sentence as the word "rave"...

please for tiesto's sake, do not use the R word

olympic stadium and bell center

Posted by Marcus007 on Jan-07-2006 16:41:

Yep b018, it's without a doubt between those two.

If you can fix the echo and bar up the windows outside, Bell Center would be number 1.

+1 marc...

I agree...walking around in the fully illuminated hallways of the Bell Center kinda killed my vibe.

I really liked the Olympic Stadium too, Swirl was wicked ...bathrooms close by, water close by, no light coming in, good setup, lots of room.

There are a lot ya across the province in random locations that are announced 24 hrs in advance. Just seems no-one on here goes, including me. It's generally a younger crowd (candy raver style) listening to psy-trance. Not really my thing.

eek yeah not really my style either. two of my friends go to school out in montana, and they come home raving (no pun intended) about the desert 'raves' they have out there...they're well put together, such as the unfortunate one that was wrongly busted in utah. thanks for your info to who responded

I remember seeing the prodigy a couple years back here at an outdoor event....It was awesome, I think more outdoor parties are in order...

Creamfields....Montreal

Posted by jester on Jan-08-2006 00:25:

wonder if they could do something at the American Pavilion from Expo '67 for a spot for an event during the summer... now sure how many ppl that thing holds that be wicked.

Meo, i was very annoyed by the sound at Cream 2004 as well, but this years celebration was perfect, the sound was crist (maybe a bit too loud) but way way better then last years.
