What the heck!!!??

Ok, look what I came across with.

I was searching for cool tracks at Dance Industries, and I came across with a producer from Brazil , called Lead of Strings. I checked one track which was good called "Protect your World". Then I checked the next one called "Moments of Eternity" which you can find in this link.

http://www.dance-industries.com/vie...543&track=16917

To my surprise, the track has the same melodies as Shane 54 & Abel Ramos - Kippenvelmeter, this guy ripped the track melodies, and called it his own.

I just can not believe, he can be so stupid to post the track publicly, knowing he is violating Shane 54 & Abel Ramos' Author rights! And I thought Dance Industries revised every track before approving it.

Unless Lead of Strings is any of the two original producers....this is fucked up...

huh? what is this? I'm talking about ripping someone else idea, such as the entire freaking melody and call it yours.

Lead of Strings should collab with Lord of Bass.

You act like this has never happened before. And moreover, that it does not happen on a site that actually has the word "copyleft" in its mantra.

Just because it has happened before does not mean is right, and please, obviously "Kippenvelmeter" is not a copyleft material.
Lead of Strings is actually going against the politics of the copyleft license, well two of them.

1)
quote:
No Derivative Works. You may not sample or remix this music. You may not alter, transform, or build upon this music (this includes synching the music to a moving image).

He is acting against the Dance Industries policy right here, and is not like he is derivating Shane 54's work, but he is completely stealing his idea by not crediting Shane and Abel for it, which takes me to the last license parameter.

2)
quote:
Attribution. You must give the original author credit.

Give me a break, does he have the right to be credited for violating someone's author rights?

If he had put it as a remix, then it should be no problem, because when someone make a remix , he is crediting the original author, but he is not.

But anyways, I just wanted to let you know about this guy, and I'll surely let Shane 54 or Abel Ramos about this as well, if in that case, they don't care about it, then that is their call...

Damn thieves

its a simple matter of Shane not being the most well known producer and someone taking advantage of that fact and copying his stuff. it happens alot and it sucks.

Yeah, but it's the rule, not the exception. All your favourite tracks are ripoffs too. Every one.

There's no such thing as originality in electronic music. It is collagist music, sampling music, music that constitutes old forms into new ideas, tears apart existing, established modes and puts them together again in new shapes of its own choosing.

And that's the way we like it.

Music is free. The way we use it is liberating.

Til some extent each and every track would be a rip off yeah, how many tracks use the same chord progression etc... that is one thing, but another thing is taking the entire melody , man, just get Kippenvelmeter, and compare it with this one, shite, I mean that is sooo fucked up.

And about Shane 54 not being known *chuckles*, maybe the casual clubber/listener don't, but before he was a trance music producer he was a pop vocalist for a decade or more, well known in Europe. And Abel Ramos, one of the best if not the best electronic music dj of Spain.

Cheers
