omg man? is that hardware synth your using?
well ur intro is pretty... empty?
at 00:30 something when that "guitarr" sound comes in, it doesnt really fit. but the pads are pretty nice, smooth and full. the pluck you have in there almost sounds like a fruity loops wasp effect, i kinda think its enoying but its pretty early in this tune. i like the way u made those strings just pop in there. the whole tune is a bit monotone. and it isnt alot drive in the start. the break is pretty nice but you need a fuller sound i think. the way u made that wasp sound not enoying and all is great, it really fits when the tune "gets going". the whole tune sounds pro but needs more drive. the outro is nice and all, pro sound but way to little drive to be a good dance tune.

Hello...
after 4 bar break,I konw why,coz after 1:21 is the answer...but I think at the intro You can do some FX or short atmospheric sounds after each 4 bars...:0 and thats as you said only half of job...I like this some kind bassy guitar(but it hass some noise szzzzz at realease),your main synth is very catchy, and pad(omg) thats is trully dreamy nad very Catchy...I like your punches with reverb at break...
If this track somekind of dream-trance track,i think you need some gentle hats...on thing i don't like-clap(need some clarity,maybe upper mid-high )

overall:
I see fantastic final version
9.9/10

Hey Richie Dogg

I'm in the middle of revising , so Ill listen and report back later tonight sir

Kick is nice. Some nice melodies here. Leadmelody is a bit too simple imo, but it sounds nice. Now for the synths, they also sound a bit too simple and basic overall imo, try to use some more effects on them such as chorus, reverb and a little delay, that would make them sound more lively. You could also choose more complex synthsounds instead of those basic ones. The track had a bit of a progressive feel to it, that's cool, but work some more on your percussion, it's very minimal now.

Posted by richg101 on Jan-08-2006 23:24:

cheers romi

feedback from the master is always welcome

the track is very early in state atm so ill apply some of yours and others ideas. synth is a preset and hasnt had anything done to it. so i guess its a bit standard..

cheers again guys

nice kick, but the break after each 4bar at start sounds abit stupid when nothing more enters. so im not sure i like the intro. like the phaseefect u added on. oh this melodi got so nice chill potensial, its very inpired by older mike stuff i think. sounds like some plastic boy stuff. u wont belive how many cool strings u can add here, i tryed with my synth while it was playing and it fitted so good. i love the athmosphere in it, but u say its more danceable not sure about that. i think u need more strings and stuff on it, but the melody is absolutely GREAT, its so chilled out and so nice, especialy now when im head-rushing(sunday). its alot u can do about the structure on this one also. give it loads of work and it can be a bomb chiller tune. great job
could i maybe try make a remix?

I concur pretty much with Palm, and the intro is really empty though, I think you could do a choral version of this, the melodie is really interesting, and a chorused guitar .
The build up is a bit empty also, I would focus in the strcture of the track and would try to add more elements to support the melodie because sounds abit alone.
Other than that this is going pretty good, keep it up .
Kopi =o.

thanks kopi.

i am working on it now and it is starting to get a bit more full with a nice quick bassline and some tweeking here and there.

Hey Rich!

Happy new year buddy

I like the chilled vibe of this song.

The main lead is cute.. but it needs something to fatten it up and make it more dynamic. Some reverb maybe?

Overall the song feels empty - that's been mentioned before. I'd love to hear some deeper strings/pads adding some harmony to what's already. If you sync the LFO with the beat and use that on the filter or something on your pads, it may help add some momentum.

It's a very soothing song, and with some added thickness it will be that much more awesome!

Great stuff.. keep at it
Trev

Listening now....

The intro sounds so much like Push its unreal
Starting to remind me of Phobos Anomaly with that big deep pad, it sits very nicely with the beat and bass.
1.55 yeah it is sounding very nice at this stage, very full. Getting really trippy and hypnotic as well. I would maybe make the kick a bit more punchy to cut through the track more.
3.47 , nice gated pads too, and a hear a nice synth coming in as well.
Really atmospheric stuff at this point. Sounding good again when the bass comes back in...equing is very good indeed, as is the overall mastering.
Overall it reminds me of Push, only less driving and focussing on more atmospheric. Maybe add in a few more percs to spice things up a bit, an open hi-hat can do wonders for a trance track

Posted by richg101 on Jan-11-2006 00:32:

@bazil fawlty (ricky)

cheers mate.

i apprieciate the kind words buddy. especially those about the mastering i always fall short on that bit and am finally learning how it works. namely the comp!

mr palm

glad it sounds better. and you like it. i hear so many tracks in progress here that i love, and then they end up changing for the worse in my eyes as they progress.

as ricky said i think maybe some more percs would work. i always loose interest in hi hats cos i dont have any sample cds so play my own. i think ill leave it like this at the mo and make a new track with more percs this time.

if you want midi i will send some to ya. theyre not quantized. i had to use a midi quantise effect cos the quantise feature is dodgy on cubase. i dont know whats wrong

cheers again guys

i really like your style rich...reminds me of M.I.K.E. a lot with the persussion arrangements and faint strings in the background..youve mastered it well also, sounds really clear - something i need to improve on ...overall i think this is the best song ive heard from u..keep it up - now crack on with my remix

// adam

I think u should keep it as it is now if it feels good for you. i still want to make a remix of it man if possible.

1+, dramating improve fromn the last time LOL, this is a prove feedback helps to improve a track .
Good job .

I m getting the new version directly...review later!!

Posted by funkysouls on Jan-12-2006 12:22:

nice bass n clap at start....2:20..tunes comin on mee..good drive
at around 4:00 its still cumin..(gets a bit repeatative)..u can still add some more melody to take it high.

Posted by djlogik on Jan-12-2006 14:18:

I think this tune has more of a progressive feel to it still. The percussion is lacking, but you could always add more. I feel like it's a really chill tune and that's good. I see it as having more power and drive though. The melodies are pretty nice, but a different synth sound for the main melody would probably add more to the drive on this track. Do some minor adjustments and I think this tune will be really banging

Posted by richg101 on Jan-13-2006 18:53:

thanks checking it out and for the suggentions funky and logik

ill take them into account on my next track

rich

Posted by richg101 on Jan-14-2006 10:58:

thanks for checking ashley.

it has quite a sad sound to it. ill agree transposing some of the melodies sometimes improves tracks.

oh and i sorted the spelling mistake on palomo:)

pads are very good as usual !
1:28 like that part as the kick comes in!
the "melodies" are really nice in this track, youve got great synths in here ! good luck with it!
love your tracks! !!!

*BUMP*

Posted by Speactra on Jan-14-2006 21:15:

Very dark one
I agree that this is kind of progressive.

Intresting melody.
I would make the drums stand out more.
The kick is great along with the bass.

Keep it up!
